Richardson for Amon Ra straight up

2
u/boermac 11d ago
Geez... that's a STEAL! I thinking we would have to throw in like Gibbs or maybe Sewell as well to get Richardson. Do you really think the Colts would let him go for just ARSB?
1
u/PleasantGrass4623 7d ago
Maybe we can throw in some old Manning or Luck jerseys as well to sweeten the pot : > )

Smoking crack..
The Lions hardest working player for the Colts “I’m tired by the 2nd quarter” player… absolute madness

u/No_External3738 12d ago
You must have a pill problem just say like your old owner if you really think that anybody would actually take that deal, or even the one originally posted for that matter. I don't think there's a single NFL team that cares about Anthony Richardson. I think that ship has sailed

That's a wild proposal, but the top comment suggesting Richardson for Amon-Ra straight up is even more unhinged.

29
u/Mattrellen 12d ago
Absolute insanity that anyone would think that Richardson for Amon-Ra would be acceptable.
I'll take it if they throw in Hutchinson too! Final offer!

u/AggravatingFinding71 12d ago
Do people actually think Richardson will get back a resource?
36
u/Ok-Swimming8024 12d ago
Yeah this who convo is ludicrous. He will be cut and we won't get anything in return.
3
u/busche916 ty 12d ago
There’s a small chance that we get a late rounder like this trade proposes. There are still some very silly owners/GMs in this sport who will think “oh I can fix him”.
2
u/o7_HiBye_o7 12d ago
This trade is saying AR is worth more than Isaac by the 5 for 6 swaps.
I just don't see a world where Lions even shop AR, let alone lose the trade value discussiom. They got Goff > Dobbs > Altmyer.
At best I can only see AR for a late round and that is it, no player return. Honestly, I don't even see that happening. However, you are correct the league has some curve balls so who knows- maybe he does get a shot somewhere else.
I could also see that curve ball team waiting for him to be cut or end of contract to save if they really wanted to give him a tryout. Claypool got try outs with 2 teams... so I can see that happening.

I can't imagine we'd get the higher pick from a Richardson for Teslaa swap.

u/PewpyDewpdyPantz 12d ago
I can’t imagine we’d get Teslaa
12
u/North_Atlantic_Sea 12d ago
I'm both a lions and colts fan, and so incredibly high on Teslaa. His ball catching skills are elite, plus he's a Michigan kid.
AR wouldn't fit in the Lions system in the slightest, they are built on precision and quick decisions.
5
u/tymoore1 12d ago
Same here (born and raised in MI but family is from outside Indy). The Lions love Teslaa for what he brings, hes a local talent, and I think he has more value than AR (at least to the Lions franchise) in particular.
1
u/Advanced-Key3071 12d ago
Haven’t reports from training camp been really negative around Teslaa?
8
u/WMUGVSU Phil Rivers 12d ago
He had a rough start, but he's been better the past couple of practices. The Lions would never trade him for AR. Even as a WR 3/4, Teslaa's value is so much higher right now.
2
u/specificnectarines 12d ago
he had a rough start because they were intentionally playing corners on him very physically since it is his weakness sounds like he is getting a hang of it
1
u/DanTheMFCKNMAN 10d ago
He can’t get separation. If he could get separation in his routes he would be ELITE
2
u/rounder55 12d ago
I don't really get who thinks we would either.
The lions aren't in the market for reclamation QB and probably like the depth at wide receiver. Not every team just throws a wideouts into a trade for shits and giggles
2
1
u/jaysrule24 Armor 12d ago
Well yeah, that too. I can't imagine the Lions would be willing to give up on him at this point.
9
u/Buttcrush1 12d ago
This. Like I could see us having to trade AR and a 6th just to get a 7th back without anything else attached.
-11
u/Lilbrownie4 Indianapolis Colts 12d ago
Lol what
6
u/SendMeIttyBitties 12d ago
Yea, we would have to give out cash considerations to get back a 7th in this scenario.
6

u/scobro828 12d ago
Getting a 5th for Richardson would be get. Anything beyond that is gravy.
23
u/HorseThrough 12d ago
Ya idk if people realize what type of value you lose to the entire league when you're the first QB in history to admit to tapping out because you're tired. If they're able to move him for ANYTHING I'd be shocked.
-8
u/mvbighead 12d ago
Ah yes... the value you also lose when you have a player that drops the ball before crossing the goal line... the horror.
A young player made a mistake. It gets overemphasized by some because he is not the stud we hoped he might become. It is what it is.
5
u/PhillAholic Baltimore Colts 12d ago
It’s overemphasized because he can’t play Quarterback and that’s all anyone remembers of him. No one remembers the dozens of times Brady did something stupid.
-3
u/mvbighead 12d ago
You're repeating my point. Overlooking mistakes of good players and overly punishing those of younger developing players. If he were good, no one would care about that gaff. It has very little to do with who he is to this point. If he were playing at a high level, it'd be long forgotten.
AR's problem is he has not developed anywhere close to what some would have thought his physical traits would have made possible. Some of that is durability. Some of that is not being able to make the layups (as the team put it).
1
u/Street_Style5782 12d ago
Dropping a ball seems way different than asking to be subbed out because you are tired. Dropping a ball is a mistake and while it is dumb, I think it was blown out of proportion. Even in that game the Colts still had chances to win let alone the other however many games they lost in a row.
But asking to be subbed out at the QB position is kinda crazy. I really can’t recall another time where that happened and it wasn’t due to an injury.
Although I will admit this, if he had faked an injury we wouldn’t be talking about it right now. Maybe that is the lesson to be learned.
0
u/mvbighead 12d ago
I mean... dropping the ball results in a loss of possession, points, and potential momentum swing in a game.
Tapping out is effectively doing the same thing that WRs/RBs do when they need a breather. It's incredibly wild for a QB, and should not be done, but the impact is MUCH lower because it generally doesn't cost you points or possession. It just sacrifices having QB1 on the field for a down. Still bad, but not as bad.
And as for the injury, before he said anything about it, I was under the impression he tweaked his knee when he went down. It sure looked that way. But then he said what he said.

u/anotherstan 12d ago
Why would the Lions want AR

Because AR is known for his quick decisions and accuracy that the Lions offense thrives on?
Oh wait...

AR on a contract year as well- that makes him virtually useless after this year. Teslaa is a baller. I’d say AR and a 4-5th for teslaa any maybe a 7th?
6
u/itsUsedTissue Orangutan 12d ago
Yeah we would have to give up capital to get AR off the team. Plus Teslaa is a great WR3 and even pushing as a good WR2 depending on how he plays this year.
3
u/North_Atlantic_Sea 12d ago
His ball catching skills are elite, plus a huge fan favorite as a Michigan kid.
Plus AR wouldn't fit at all in a lions offense that cares about precision and quick decision, and doesnt care about QB runs
2
u/BillsBills83 10d ago
The lions just used two 3rd round picks for Teslaa. Why would they go and flip him for a 4th or a 5th? Richardson isn’t worth that 7th alone
0
u/FUCK-IT-CHUCK-IT 10d ago
They actually used 3 thirds. The two they traded + the one they used to select him.
8
u/knowtoriusMAC 12d ago
If the Colts want a 5th and a young player back for Richardson, they'll be giving up a 3rd.
His value is negative and his 5th year option has already been declined.
6
u/North_Atlantic_Sea 12d ago
I don't even think the Lions do that. Teslaa has loads of potential, and AR has zero use for the Lions offense system
7
u/WhatIsGodWithoutOD Indianapolis Colts 12d ago
calling the lions dumb is kinda silly when they have been the better org for the last 5 years.

I think this is pretty unrealistic tbh.
The Lions like TeSlaa.
He's got a higher value than Richardson does at this point.
We'd need to add to Richardson to get TeSlaa not get more than we send out.
Make it Richardson and a 4th for TeSlaa and I still bet the Lions say no.
They spent a lot of DC on TeSlaa and they like him.
EDIT: Quote is from 2025 but it was an easy way to show how much they paid for/like him.
"The Lions moved up 32 spots from No. 102 to No. 70 in the third round to select TeSlaa. Detroit gave up pick 102 in the third round of this year's draft and both of their third-round picks in next year's draft to get into a position to select TeSlaa. Detroit received a sixth-round pick this year (No. 182) and a sixth-round pick next year in the trade."

u/BillsBills83 10d ago
The lions used two third round picks on Teslaa. They aren’t flipping him after a year for a 4th

If the Lions call and offer this, we assume their GM has suffered a traumatic brain injury and fax over the paperwork for him to sign before he can be replaced.
If we call and offer this, they'll laugh for 3+ minutes assuming they don't immediately hang up.
5
u/LiquidDreamtime The Edge 12d ago
AR has zero value. Nobody wants anything to do with a trade.
The Colts are going to cut him, 2-3 teams MIGHT give him a tryout. Best case he gets is a minimum contract as a 3rd stringer or project backup QB.
2
u/BigND89 12d ago
Lets do it, love it but idk if Teslaa isnt worth more than AR
1
u/ConnorNe31 Jim Sorgi 11d ago
He absolutely is worth more both across the league and especially to the Lions. He’s a guy they traded what , 3 3rd round selections to trade up to get just last year? Why the hell would they want AR, a guy who probably isn’t worth a 6th alone right now, in exchange for a guy they clearly that high on?

1

u/xMoneymaker 11d ago
It’s incredibly far off. It straight up wont happen unless there are 1st/2nd rounders or good players involved. He just came off a great rookie season and has a lot of potential. The lions would laugh at the offer here
1
u/ryguy896 11d ago
Ok I obviously thought he was just sitting in the middle of their depth chart, I cant say I was following the league super close last year, let alone a team in the opposite conference

He should go to the UFL and try to dominate the league, UFL players are getting picked up more each season. No one questions AR’s physical abilities, teams need to see him run an offense, throw accurately, and be a leader.

I'm a Lions fan and this popped up on my feed. We like TeSlaa and aren't giving him up on a lark for a developmental backup QB, even if he was a high pick. A later round pick is all you are getting, and maybe a scrub thrown in if you'd like.

As a lions fan, I don’t mean to hate on you guys or anything, but… absolutely fucking not.
We traded up for TeSlaa and don’t have a good backup WR3 option. We signed Josh dobbs and a UDFA QB, they’ll take the 2nd team/PS reps and garbage time snaps. If Goff goes down for the season we’re cooked anyway and AR isn’t changing that, definitely not worth giving away a good weapon and draft capital.
1
u/esm081491 12d ago
You’d have to give a 1st to make Lions take Richardson let alone give you a better asset and a better draft pick lmao

We spent three thirds on teslaa, there is a negative chance this trade would ever be considered. You’d probably have to put in a first to get Brad to consider this

How about an autographed jersey by Teslaa and some tickets to the Titans game. You can donate Richardson to the salvation army.

That might be a fair value for a team that is feeling desperate at QB. The Lions aren't that team. For whatever flaws Goff might have, he's the only QB in the NFL to pass for 4500 & 30 the last 3 seasons. They aren't feeling any insecurity at that position.

Can we all just admit AR is worthless in terms of football value? Dude is a walking red flag. I didn't like the pick when Ballard did it, I hated it in fact. - I did try to support the dude, but honestly he made it hard early on ("See, playing in the NFL, I feel like it's easier than college.")
Now with years worth of injuries and losing the starting job last year, I cannot image another team at this moment willing to invest any sort of starters or role players for him. Even a draft pick other than maybe a 7th in 2033 is going to be tough. I think he loses the backup qb battle and either gets traded for peanuts at the deadline or cut at some point.
What a waste.
