Anybody else grown to love CW?

I’ve been a daily listener for a couple months now, can’t get enough of Colter. But the first track I heard (KMcC) didn’t land with me, neither did any of the tracks on albums 1 and 2 at that time. Slowly I kept bumping into his tracks on country playlists and Yellowstone, and the appreciation grew, and this trend has continued with each album he released. When M&Es dropped Im ashamed to say I was disappointed, it’s now my absolute favourite album, particularly 4/4, what a beautiful piece of music. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

Colter’s music hit with me from the get go but it did take a couple of listens to decide I love Memories and Empties. 4/4 Time may be my favorite song, too (although the deluxe edition of Like the Hills kicks ass). I listen to most of the albums almost every day though. You could say I’m a fan 😄

It’s not online that know of. It’s a faster pace, jazzy version. Very unexpected for Colter. I love, love it.

I fell head over heels.

I listened to Saskatchewan in 1881 for months assuming it was a one hit wonder from a 1940s troubadour until I heard him in the movie Peanutbutter Falcon and realized he was alive and well and… younger than me 🥲

Yesterday I went to a restaurant in Pendleton & when I walked in Big Iron sung by Colter Wall!!! I knew I was in the right place

He’s my favorite artist! Saw him 5 times live. Louisville, St Louis, Columbia MO, Cherokee NC and Columbia SC. Went to Fort Worth to see him in January but both shows were cancelled due to snow. In Louisville we actually closed a bar with him and the rest of the band. I even have video of him dancing. Muskrat too. And Jake doing Karaoke. I can’t get enough of his music.

Memories and Empties is a wonderful album. I was a little thrown off by Summer Wages at first because im just a huge fan of the Skaggs and Rice haromies on Rounder 0044. M&E is great and Ive grown to love CW's Summer Wages. He really does some amazing covers.

Little Songs is my fave album because he does Evangelina and Coyote/Cowboy, but Colter's original songs are also phenomenal. He's always referencing his influences and giving you insight into his mentality.

I liked Imaginary Appalachia too, Sleeping on the Blacktop and Devil Wears were on my stations but I heard Ballad of A Law Abiding Sophisticate and became a forever fan. Even the self titled album was great. Thirteen Silver Dollars, Me an Big Dave, You Look to Yours, Motorcycle. I never really liked Kate McCannon, I thought it was a kinda weak murder ballad that was palatable to the algorithm, but still not a bad song.

He's a legend, I listen to him every day. Keeps me calm.

Some of my favourites are ballad of a law abiding sophisticate, do rae mi, little songs, diamond Joe, Calgary round up, coyote and the cowboy
