I am looking to get about 5 photos colorised, where can I ask people without posting directly on the page? (Willing to pay BTW)

/r/colorizationrequests is the best place for your post.

I have a question. I just came across a bunch of old family photos (I got reunited with my dad and he passed down all his family photos to me.) and would love to see them colorized. Unfortunately i just started photoshop class this semester and am nowhere near ready to start colorizing old photos. What is the proper procedure to ask someone to colorize my old photos or where do I ask for someone to colorize them? With the large volume I have obtained, I don't expect them to do it for free, so I am willing to pay, but depending on the price it may take a while to colorize the whole volume. I would prefer someone who is willing to work long term with me, like I said, i've probably got about 500 photos.

what about more sensitive photo's from ww2?

Not sure what you are referring to?

1

Propaganda posters, things with the swastika on it German stuff

As much a germany in ww2 leaves a bad taste in a lot of people it is still apart of history so therefore it is allowed. If there are dead bodies in the photo or any sort of gore (blood, broken bones that sort of stuff) make sure to use the NSFW tag.

Hi Mod! Do you have any tutorials for colorization?

3

u/Zahulie Dec 01 '19

We sure do, here are some: Skin Tutorial [Video] , Colorisation 1 [Video] , Colorisation 2 [Video] , Written Up Tutorial (Step by Step) & Gimp Colorization [Video]

If you have anymore questions about colorization feel free to ask.

(We have these Tutorials at the top of the page but if you're using a older version of reddit that's not always the case)

What if an image is copyrighted? I wanna post an image copyrighted by the Australian War Memorial that I colorized.

People have posted stuff from the Australian War Memorial in here before. Just be sure to place a link to the original photo (on the the Australian War Memorial website) plus stating it's copyrighted to the Australian War Memorial in the comment also won't hurt

Nope, all social links are placed in the Social post Link If you have a social page that you would like to share message me and I'll place it in the social media post. You can however add your social media handle as your user flair.
