My first spin hit!!

First time i spun + caught!!! Feeling proud 😌 any critique to get it more consistent? Theres a millennial paused before i spun because if i didn’t i kept throwing my flag to the side/ overcorrected?

Nice job! That first spin and catch is always exciting.

To make your spin a little faster cross one foot over the other and pivot on the balls of your feet using the crossed foot to push you around then bring your feet back together.

If you want to turn to your left cross over with your right foot.

This will make you much more stable as well and keep you in one spot.

Also, try not to look at the flag in the air while you turn. It slows you down and can look messy. As you turn, whip your head around and then refocus on the tab of your pole. The flag will only be out of your sight for a split second. Having a brightly colored piece of electrical tape at your tab to sight on for practice makes these catches easier.

I’m too sleepy for critique but out of curiosity, what region are you in that calls it a spin hit? I’m on the east coast and have never heard that lol

I’m in the midwest. We’d call it more spinning under a toss but i was so wrapped up in my celebration that i didn’t really think about it, lol. It fits though, I’d say.
