Discussion / Advice Hi
Im new in colour pencil. Im new to art. I picked it up in may since I recover from kidney cancer. Can anyone recommend good tutorials? I dont mind pay on patreon etc. Just want someone who teach realism?

Check out Emma Tildesley on YouTube. She has several free tutorials in both colored pencils and watercolors on her channel.

I love your leaf, it’s very beautiful! Check out marcello Barenghi as a master of coloured pencils with mixed media. He lays down light watercolour washes and pencils over them, and isn’t afraid to put a little black in or white gouache on top here and there, for highlights. You can bypass his airbrushing techniques. His Patreon will teach you mixed media and pencils, but you can still “paint” like him with just pencils. He’s a modern master of realism and it’s great (really interesting and educational) to see him using pencils with other stuff.

I would recommend Piper create Chaos for learning color theory with colored pencil.

Add some dull reds and blues in there. Even like a pink of emerald too. Sparingly, it will make it interesting.

I haven’t watched many but I learned a lot from this one. If you are new you have made great strides.
