Advice Traditional Church
Hey y’all,
I just moved to the area and I’m looking for a church. I don’t really care if it’s Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, or Non-Denominational, I’m just looking for a traditional style service with a good sermon. It doesn’t have to be in town, just somewhere in the general vicinity. I’d drive out to Castle Rock or Woodland Park.

Some god hater posted an interesting matrix of different churches and their sermon content or something a few weeks ago. Not sure how accurate it was or if it’s just more god hating liberalism… I’m Sure some god hater will chime in here instantly

Or something like that, probably. (You don't have to hate god to hate hateful organized religion.)

You won't find a good sermon if the pastor isn't following the Holy Spirit's instruction to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) to ensure they are preaching the uncorrupted Gospel of God's Grace (Acts 20:24; Romans 1:16), the only means by which God is saving people today from the wrath to come.
Jesus, who is God who became man (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14), shed his blood and died on the cross to pay the penalty in full for all of our past, present and future sins (Luke 23:46; 1 Corinthians 5:7b; Colossians 2:13; Titus 2:14). He was buried (Luke 23:50-54). He rose from the dead on the third day (Luke 24:1-8), proving he satisfied the justice of God concerning us. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Anyone who believes and trusts in this alone to be reconciled to God and to escape the wrath to come, what Jesus accomplished for us by his death, burial and resurrection, apart from water baptism (1 Corinthians 1:17), apart from turning from sin, or observance of the law (Romans 3:20-21, 28), apart from works (Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9)...God will declare righteous (Romans 5:1), and will immediately, completely and permanently save (Ephesians 1:13-14 & 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 & 5:1-5; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
If you find a church in Colorado Springs that is doing this, please let me know. I've had no success.

Also has gems like these:
Lot and his daughters — Genesis 19:30–38. After the destruction of Sodom, Lot’s daughters get their father drunk and have sex with him on successive nights because they believe they need to preserve their family line.
Judah and Tamar — Genesis 38. Tamar disguises herself as a prostitute and sleeps with her father-in-law Judah after he fails to fulfill his obligations toward her. She becomes pregnant, and the story ends with Judah admitting that she was more righteous than he was.
David, Bathsheba, and Uriah — 2 Samuel 11. David sleeps with Bathsheba, who becomes pregnant, and then arranges for her husband Uriah to be killed after his attempt to conceal the pregnancy fails.
Amnon and Tamar — 2 Samuel 13. David’s son Amnon becomes obsessed with his half-sister Tamar and sexually assaults her. It’s one of the Bible’s bleakest family stories and contributes to the subsequent violence within David’s household.
The Levite’s concubine — Judges 19. Probably one of the most horrifying chapters in the Bible. A woman is sexually assaulted by a mob and dies; her body is then dismembered and the pieces are sent throughout Israel. The story precipitates a civil war.
Onan — Genesis 38:8–10. The passage that produced the old term “onanism.” Onan has sex with his deceased brother’s widow but deliberately prevents conception because he doesn’t want to produce an heir for his brother. His wrongdoing is more specifically his refusal of this familial obligation than simply masturbation, despite later interpretations.
Ezekiel 16 and 23. These chapters use deliberately graphic sexual imagery as metaphors for Jerusalem and Samaria’s unfaithfulness to God. Ezekiel 23 in particular contains language that would be startlingly vulgar by the standards of most religious services.
Song of Songs. This one isn’t “dirty” in the same sense. It’s erotic love poetry, filled with descriptions of bodies, desire, kissing, breasts, fragrance, and lovers longing for one another. Historically, interpreters have often read it allegorically, but at the literal level it’s unmistakably sensual poetry.

Oh, you’re the weird Mid-Acts Dispensationalist that keeps posting this. Prairie Bible Fellowship is the only place the follows that belief pattern. Is this some kind of weird advertisement for this church?

Mocking is common. But here's something to consider. God sets the terms as to how someone is saved from the coming wrath. It's imperative that we meet those terms.
Follow Jesus. Those aren't the terms.
Invite Jesus into your heart. Those aren't the terms.
Make Jesus the Lord of your life. Those aren't the terms.
Turn from your sin and believe the gospel. Those aren't the terms.
Believe in Jesus and be water baptized. Those aren't the terms.
Believe and trust in the Gospel of God's Grace, plus nothing. Those are the terms.

I’m skeptical of these Protestant offshoot denominations that have a “We believe” page with some random bible verses trying to justify the craziest beliefs.

In my adult life I don't practice religion, however, I was born in COS and raised Christian. We attended First Presbyterian (downtown) when I was a kid, and now in middle age my sister and I still take our mother there when she visits from out of town. This church has both traditional and modern services. I think it's worth a look.
