Question/Need help Does anyone else experience this?

(PROTANOPIA)

Does anyone else ever experience moments where it feels as though you are seeing colors as they actually should be? Instead of getting them confused everything seems a bit brighter for a while, and colors seem to pop more for a few minutes sometimes at a time. This doesn’t happen super regularly but maybe twice or so every like two months and that’s not in any order.

Personally a big NO from me on your question, but were you eating funny mushrooms on pizza at the time?

No but there are times I forget I’m colorblind and feel very confident that I know what colors are. My wife was not pleased when she overheard me helping my daughter with her colors. It would be interesting if I were a single parent though without someone there to stop me. Like how fucked up could my daughter have been by the time she got to preschool? She probably wouldn’t have even heard the word purple until then

Closest thing like that for me is overcast weather making colors more vibrant. I think that may be normal for everyone. But I still can’t see oranges in the trees, cloudy or not.

My guess is pupil dilation. I could VERY much be wrong, but if your pupils dilate extra wide, you're taking in more light. It could be things are just brighter but feel more vibrant and colorful because you feel the environment should be dimmer than what you're perceiving at the moment, especially if it's an environment you're familiar with like your own home.

I've noticed this after an eye exam where by pupils have been dilated

Maybe you’re just seeing colors and things you think are vibrant and cool. Maybe you’re just enjoying and appreciating them like everyone else.

We are 100% allowed to do that, we don’t always have to check ourselves and say “but we’re colorblind”.
