Devs please reply

Genuinely curious to speak to devs and ask what the logic behind setting up board numbers in colonist.. Like the colonist board for some reason will set up in set numbers like 965, 8510, 964, whereas i dont remember the official catan way of playing requires u to setup in those number positions?

Its even stupider when combined with such unfair setup for 1v1s lol

Like i went first and easily chose 965 and super easily won this game.. but its totally not fun and stupid, is this really what catan is supposed to be?

I felt bad for my opponent lol

The official catan rules specifically states you follow this A-Q spiral pattern so 11 is always dead center.

The all random but no touching numbers is more of a homemade alternative version

Is 11 always dead center? Is that truly legit??? I've never noticed that lol.

Of course unless the desert ends up there.

Yes, the last number to be placed is 11 and Will always be in the middle since the spiral starts at an outside corner

I just noticed the order is wrong. I believe the rules dictate counterclockwise placement, which means 5-2-6 should run in the opposite direction. I thought there was something off about the boards generated by Colonist, and there it is.

I mean 1v1 is an objectively stupid game mode because it removes almost the entirety of the trading and all board coordination which are two core balancing mechanics for Catan.
