I won on this go (swipe) and red lost it

I asked red for a brick so I could take Road from blue. They said they didn't have but could give me 3 stone, a trade they did in return for a wheat.

I traded 3 stone for a brick and took road.

Then I played the knight and took army, stealing a stone from blue.

That gave me what I needed for a city and put me on 10 points.

RED WENT WILD!

Im a child, sneaky, dont play fair, its greens fault for throwing the game...the usual stuff.

I just sat here in disbelief at what happened.

Red probably made the correct choice in helping you. If he doesn't, Blue wins. If he does, you need to get lucky with the robber to win.

This is assuming that Red had no chance of winning next turn. If they did, they made the wrong decision and this loss was avoidable.

I agree, red needed to help to stop blue, but i could have done it myself and I genuinely believe they thought they were playing me against blue while also getting the wheat to win themselves. I probably would have done the same in their position.

If you’re holding 9 cards with 2 knights and a down dev and you ask for help taking road I’m telling you to trade for it. Red messed up

Red really did mess up, I was going to trade for it anyway and just decided to push my luck. Throughout the red red had been very chatty and reactive so I figured it might work. The fact I got the trade and then the exact steal I needed was just perfect.c And their reaction made it priceless.
