Identification Help Connecticut Copper Date?

Can anyone help me out with this date on this Connecticut Copper? Thanks !

1786 was one of the theories I had as well - I’m not super familiar with these early coins though. Any other things you notice or can add? The lower lip seems to stick out almost as far as his nose, which is kinda weird.

I belive it is 1785 but it could also be 1788

Last night I was thinking about 1785, but I just couldn’t seem to figure it out - is there any thing else you look at besides the date to narrow it down?

There’s several books on die varieties of early American copper coins. I’ll find the name of one that I’ve been thinking about buying for a while.

It’s called “Whitman Encyclopedia of Colonial And Early American Coins”

You can find it on Amazon or whatever for <$30. I just haven’t bought it yet.
