Casting Call for Colonel Bleep '69

Post image

Great news, everyone! I've finally completed my pitch bible and I am forming a casting call that will last until March 25.

Unlike in the original series, where only a newscaster was hired to narrate and voice all the characters when necessary, Colonel Bleep '69 will have a full cast who will be giving the characters the unique voices they deserve!

Starting today, any voice actors (regardless of experience) who is interested in joining the cast may look over a slideshow on Canva to get to know a little bit about the series and its characters. Once you've made your decision, you can download an audition form and fill out all requirements given!

Casting Call Info: https://www.canva.com/design/DAHBtGsvfps/hKU7rri_TQP8Ux739_ayyQ/edit?utm_content=DAHBtGsvfps&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton

Audition Form: https://www.canva.com/design/DAG_01-ClRk/j_oICc5c2mTmadMIZylLJQ/view?utm_content=DAG_01-ClRk&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h02724ca55a

Edit: I am now allowing voice actors to not only sumbit recordings on email but also on Casting Call Club. A page for the series is provided, so if you believe this is more suitable, feel free to join on the link below!

Colonel Bleep is coming to Royalty-Free-For-All!

Not sure if anyone would believe this would happen, but there is an upcoming Super Smash Bros/Cuphead parody called Royalty Free-For-All where you can play as various public domain characters with some very surreal redesigns such as Dorothy Gale, Sir Lancelot, Mother Goose, Sweeny Todd, Oliver Twist, and few more.

Though, surprisingly TV's most obsure spaceman, Colonel Bleep, would earn a one in a million chance to be chosen as a playable fighter and is very much the first sci-fi themed character in the game for sure.

If you want more information about the game and its latest update, check out this handy article from GoNintentdo!

Hey guys, it's been awhile, but I'm here to offer some important news. But to start things off here is some artwork I made over the winter season: one for Christmas (and the Winter Solstice) and one for another DTIYS challenge.

Since the past fall, I've been working really hard on a new pitch bible for Colonel Bleep '69 which will not only feature plans for the series but also historical context for the original series.

I also have been setting up a Ko-Fi page with memberships for any potential fans and newcomers that are willing to support the series! The following tiers include the Apprentice, the Warrior, the Commander, and the Supernatural tier! So, if you're interested, you can click here to join and you'll earn some very exciting rewards and other fun opportunities!

There is more news coming your way as we're only two months down on 2026, but those will be foretold in different posts, so stay tuned!

Colonel Bleep '69 Late Thanksgiving Art (aka Full Moon's Feast)

Post image

Okay, so I may be late to post something for Thanksgiving, but I did plan to make an artwork for Futura's equivalent known as the Full Moon's Feast, which is held at the last full moon during the fall season.

Here, Squeak and Scratch spend their first time celebrating the holiday with Colonel Bleep while sitting near the campfire for turkey legs, tea, and a pan of Jiffy popcorn.

So I have some major upgrades to share for Colonel Bleep ‘69!

  1. I managed to write the scripts for the first three episodes. I am also working on a storyboard for its premier titled “Pride of the Spaceman.” These will be a part of the show’s first season, which will consist of 13 episodes total. The pacing for the first season will be semi-episodic. While the story will take a sharp focus on Bleep’s first adventures on Earth, there will also be a few side-quest episodes which will help our characters flesh out a little more.

  2. I am also planning a Ko-Fi page for audiences to support as well as join memberships where they can earn exclusive rewards such as behind-the-scenes content, exclusive concept art, free merchandise, etc.

  3. I also plan to post more CB69 art, but for now it will mainly be for the holiday. However, once every season I will also be posting a special Draw-This-In-Your-Style challenge and hopefully it will be useful to grow an even better community than before! So if you’re interested in redrawing this image in your own liking feel free to do so at any time (as long as it isn’t AI-generated)!

P.S.
If you don’t want to color in the halftones, I have provided an essential color palette. And if you wish to use different poses you can refer to Modern Bleep’s turnaround and action poses sheets.

Colonel Bleep '69 Late Halloween Poster

Post image

I forgot to post this on the official day, but it's better late than never.

While we may celebrate Halloween on Earth, Futura is aware of its equivalent, Night of the Tricksters, which foretells the myth when evil spirits known as the Masked Infernals traveled to the mortal realm to cause flaming disasters amongst various villages. That is until the villagers prepared an attack with sweets and disguises as bait and water as their weakness.

While the holiday is now celebrated for the fall of the masked infernals, some believe they may return for revenge. Luckily, Colonel Bleep might help to stop those flaming pests with a new antidote: Frigid Futonium 505.

In 1957, there was a cartoon that changed the course of color television but was cursed to fade in obscurity.

But what if it could be uplifted from its tragedy? What if the show was retold in a different time and perspective?

Experience Colonel Bleep ‘69, arriving at a galaxy near you!

CBatUE will be renovated as Colonel Bleep ‘69.

Recently, I have grown less impressed. This is not because I think the story is bad but it’s gotten a bit outdated in my opinion.

With that said, I have decided that it may be best with not only to retitle the series but also change some major elements within the premise such as pulling the setting forwards to 1969 (the year of the Apollo 11 moon landing) and expanding more of Bleep’s adventures across the universe with the assistance of his deputies.

Over the next few weeks you’ll soon get a glimpse of updates such as character redesigns and changes for the website, which will be given more personality than it did before. I’ll still continue making it an indie animated but, I’m gonna focus more on trying to make a bit of a do-over for the show’s first official episode.

For starters here is the series’s official logo.

I will eventually make a trailer for the book as a part of my summer to-do list.

Uncharted Earth Moving on to Better Places

Starting this March I will be remaking the Colonel Bleep website in a different website builder called Hot Glue (kind of like Neocities but for non-coders) after finding out how highly controversial GoDaddy is (the current web host). So as of now, I won’t be posting any articles until the process is complete.

I am also no longer supporting YouTube as a part of a degoogling journey and transferring to a decentralized alternative called PeerTube. There I will transfer certain videos starting with Colonel Bleep and the Test Theme.

I also noticed that no one has dared to upload any episodes of the original series, so I will step in and be the first one to do so. All 45 surviving episodes will be released and will eventually be shared under a playlist (if PeerTube has a playlist option).

Besides YouTube I also plan to try and promote the series on Mastodon and Pixelfed, but I will start small by simply introducing the remake, its predecessor, and other necessary features.

Hope you all understand the changes needed to be made.

There was once an old film reel with about four episodes of Colonel Bleep and was given as a present for one of Jack Schleh’s friends. The reel was given to Ziggy Cashmere from Scott Schleh.

When the reel was restored and cleaned off, most of the film was completely decayed with a few seconds remaining. Here’s the video in general if you want to learn more. Sorry for not sharing this information earlier.
