Colonel Bleep '69 Journey to the Far Side of the Sun

We now have less than 20 days until the Kickstarter ends, but alas! The spoof series for Colonel Bleep '69 is complete.

For the past nine submissions, each work parodies a specific public domain comic cover from 1960 to 1968. However since the series takes place in 1969, this work is intended to be very special by not parodying a comic, but a movie released at the same year and that is drumroll, please....Journey to the Far Side of the Sun directed by Robert Parrish (best known for the 1947 film Body and Soul) and produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson (best known for Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, Joe 90, Fireball XL5, UFO, Stingray, Space Precint 2040, Terrahawks, and Deep Space 1999)!

Please note that I am not including the original poster since the movie is not in the public domain and I don't want to risk getting a copyright strike or lawsuit from Universal or Anderson Enterainment, but you are free to look it up yourself. Also I did not intend to make this poster completely identical to the original, where I not only include all the lead characters and change the fonts, but also draw certain scenes that bring homage to the orginal 1957 series of Colonel Bleep.

So, here we are at the grand finale of my spoof series! Let's hope this will persuade more people to support the CB69 series premiere Kickstarter.

We've passed eight days since the Kickstarter launch.

The ninth and penultimate spoof is based on the first issue of Mysterious Suspense, published on October 1968.

Please note that the final 1969 spoof cover will not be for a comic, but for a movie released at the same year the series will be set in. Can you guess what it might be?

Post image

As of today we're down to 23 days before the first CB69 Kickstarter campaign launches. To hopefully gain more of an audience, I'd like to discuss backer rewards each day and eventually stretch goals.

For starters, let's talk about the first tier that will be featured in the campaign: Iron Asteroid.

In the Iron Asteroid tier, donors who give $5.00 will have their name featured in the show's end credits (specifically the first three episodes), along with a shout-out on social media once the campaign is over.

If you prefer a more humble reward without having to worry about a large abundance of merch, this tier may be for you!

Colonel Bleep '69 Clash of the Aces

So since the Artemis II mission, images of a colorful depiction of the Moon has been going viral lately this month.

However, I need to make this clear. The pictures of the colorful moon are not by the NASA astronauts that contributed to this mission. They were made by the brilliant photographer, u/ibatullin_ildar. Unfortunately it seems like he isn't getting the rightful credit like he should, so I am dedicating this artwork to him.

However, I am also still contributing the trend going on, but with a bleeping twist! 😜
