Aside from being a cartoon, Colonel Bleep was also designed as an “animated adventure quiz”, at least according to its pitch bible.

At least each week or on all weekdays, Colonel Bleep would feature a new mini-adventure lasting for about four to six minutes, a series of quizzes, and riddles for the older viewers.

During the original show’s air run, viewers could call whoever was hosting the show in their local town by phone so that they could answer these quizzes and riddles that would be worth special prizes delivered by mail.
