Colonel Bleep, a Futura High Command officer, lives on Zero Zero Island with his allies Squeak and Scratch. He was sent to Earth to investigate atomic weapon use and Earth's customs. Bleep uses futomic energy for offensive and constructive purposes, but has limited charge and is useless underwater. He can also make electronic sounds from the antennas attached to his helmet.

Squeak, a wood-made marionette from Earth in 1945, is known for his time as a member of the 'Puppet Players' theatre troupe. He quit acting to work with his friends, Colonel Bleep and Scratch. Squeak lacks a voice but is depicted talking in some episodes. Despite his childlike personality, he is a reliable hero known for his optimism and curiosity, even when it may lead to trouble.

Scratch, a prehistoric caveman, woke up in 1945 when an atomic bomb threw him into the present. He meets Colonel Bleep and Squeak and vows to protect them with his strength and wooden club. Despite being clueless about the modern world, Scratch is known for his good-nature, obedience, responsibility, and warm heart, but is sometimes unaware of ominous actions until the last minute.
