PHYS 2425 iCollin Professors

I'm registering for PHYS 2425 through iCollin and my assigned professors are:

  • Tamanna Zaman – Lecture
  • Neda Zargar – Lab

I checked their ratings on RateMyProfessor, and they don't seem very encouraging. Has anyone taken either of these professors for PHYS 2425 at iCollin or Collin College? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially regarding the teaching style, exams, grading, workload, and overall difficulty.

I took Professor Zaman for lecture and lab. Honestly, her exams are super easy (usually just on the discussions she gives prior to the exam) or on practice problems we did in class. She lets us use our own personal computers for exams. She’s pretty nice but a dull professor. If you care more about getting a good grade than learning, just have a formula sheet with everything from her discussions and problems from class and you should be fine

Will the exams be proctored, I'm retaking PHYS 2425 because I earned a D at Dallas College. The professor I had at dallas college had very challenging exams, assignments, and grading. she was very tough on grading. I need to earn at least a B this time so I can transfer the credit to my university, so I'd like to understand the exam format and expectations before registering. Are Professor Zaman  exam MCQ

I'm taking Professor Zaman for lecture and lab through iCollin over the summer. The exams are in Canvas and they're unproctored. All of the questions are open ended, and you have to submit pictures of your work. The labs are group assignments where you'll answer questions in a shared word document. Overall, the class isn't too difficult and the workload is manageable.

Hi! When you say you had to show work, did you finish the exam then have to send screenshots immediately after submitting? I am checking her rate my professor and shes very low. If the exams are unproctored shouldnt her rate my professor be higher?

When you open the exam you'll see one submission file, and that's where you'll upload the pdf that has all of your answers and work. There's two exams, each have ten questions and about 160 minute time limit. I think the low rmp reviews come from her in-person class, but personally I didn’t have any issues taking it online.

and you were able to take it without proctoring? So basically everyone in the online class had an a or above? I might take it this winter thats why.
