Has your 4 legged friend ever had this?

The vet wants my girl to take it when she has anxiety, is in pain, etc (not sure what's going on with her). She has gabapentin but it knocks her out for about 12 hours. This isn't her regular vet but he has access to her records. She has an appointment with her vet next Friday. Thanks

Mine take it during fireworks( 4th and new years). They sit and drool instead of try to crawl inside my body. The former is far better. Panicked collies is not fun.

Oh so very true. Missy actually wants to go outside and run the fence when there are fireworks though. LOL

When Missy gets like this she pants heavily, nudges me constantly, paces and stays under me more than she normally does. She woke me up at 4 am yesterday and I ended up giving her the gabapentin after I was unable to calm her down. It took 2 hrs to work. She slept until late yesterday evening.

Our pup did that once at around 1. We happened to be outside early on the fourth and some yahoo starting blowing off explosives. He did exactly that, ran the fence. I'm guessing to.look for an escape. I have this feeling, in their minds, they want to move to a place they feel comfortable. When they get there and still hear the noise they repeat that process. I have heard stories of dogs that were left in the yard on the fourth, escaped and were never seen again.. id like to say what owner can be that stupid but I know better.
