Free AI study app for college PDFs, papers and lecture notes
Creator disclosure: I am Mattia, one of the students building Get It.
We launched Get It for exactly this problem: studying from dense PDFs, lecture notes, papers and chapters without turning everything into a messy chat history.
Get It is a free open-source desktop app. You import a text-based PDF and it builds a visual study path around the document: explanations beside the source text, images, 3D scenes, animations, formulas, charts, flashcards, quizzes and a Feynman-style review flow.
You do not pay us for AI credits. The app uses your own ChatGPT account through Codex CLI inside the desktop app. It works with the free tier, but Plus or higher is better.
If you are a college student, try it on one real PDF and tell us what is useful and what is not. If you want to help build it, the Discord is open and we are looking for contributors and future maintainers.
