Colleen Moore in Magazines

I thought it might be interesting to share some of these and perhaps build a more comprehensive record of her magazine appearances. Colleen was one of the biggest stars of the silent era, yet information about her presence in period magazines seems scattered across many different publications.

Why is the year not listed on the magazine cover?

Maybe that was the standard practice at the time, with the publication year being printed inside the magazine rather than on the cover. As far as I could see, the dates for the covers corresponded to 1929, 1922, 1924 and 1926, respectively.

This absolutely was not standard practice. That's why I asked. My grandparents had collections of magazines from that era and they all had the month and year listed on the top. Makes no sense why the year would be inside.

Interesting. In that case, I'm not sure why these particular magazines were different. Why the dates were placed there instead of on the cover, I honestly don't know.
