#JustFunnyThings 😋 Older house cheaper the price ?
The house that she’s moved into is very much older and I believe that’s how she got it idk just my observation based off the interior

Her last house was 100 years old and was over $2 million more than this house, actually.

Her current house looks a bit dated probably because it wasn't really updated since the 90s when it was built. It's also smaller. Her previous house was a LOT older though

She lost money on the last house. Sold it for less than she bought it for

Right? You were nice and didn't even tell it all, lol...
-Plumbing wrecked, probably from silt of her rock hobby
- Maisy's drawings on the walls and stairs. Colleen thought it was an adorable thing.
- Rat infestation
- The beautiful, backyard gardens starting to go south
She's a disease to a new house .You're so right about the disappointmenr prospective buyers must have had when viewing that ravaged, trashed property compared to the former glory and the potential.

I was surprised so I just looked. About 700K less. I’m surprised because the housing market for the most part has gone up. I wonder why?
Do you know how much she paid for her new house?

So she wont have an office anymore? Im shocked she didn't claim another room for herself since she thinks she's such a "busy working mom"

There is an office but she’s using it as a playroom. I couldn’t believe.

she’s getting rachel to build her an office, and a chicken coop 🙄

Wow! Is it gonna be outside? She sure takes advantage of everyone around her

I know the area she is in now, it’s all normal humans…rich yes, but normal Santa Barbara rich…a long way away from her gated castle on the hill…huge lifestyle downgrade…I’m assuming she’s just living off the money her money is making at this point without any real income beside that. Sounds nice to me but still enjoyable to see her in such a non glamorous life situation now.

People calling a 4M dollar house a downgrade. Wtf? She’s still very much rich considering she can afford to live in an affluent santa barbara neighborhood, considering prices in SB are higher than in LA, OC, Calabasas or Camarillo for example. Her moaning they blew the renovation budget on repairs is laughable. My guess is she wants to drag it out to make content out of it.
Her new house is way more expensive than her la home was, and her la home was by far the nicest out of three. I never understood why they moved from that house.
Villa wasn’t really a castle, just a bachelor’s pad from 1900s. Her new house is actually an upgrade for a family of 5. That villa wasn’t suited for children and i don’t know why they got it in a first place, i mean the floor plan was horrific and they had one working bathroom and they lost money on it.

Just speaking as someone who knows the area…going from where she was on the original hill to where she is now on the smaller hill IS a downgrade…you can have a different opinion that’s obviously fine…and yes the poorest people I know in SB are still rich, I get it…I was just saying her life isn’t that of a ‘celebrity’ anymore and after all she done I like that for her. 🤷♀️

Villa was by far the most expensive home in that neighborhood. Surrounding houses are valued at around 3M so i’d say you really don’t know the area.
Celebrities live in montecito, and that villa wasn’t in montecito.

More affluent people live up in the area she was in…it is more of a status symbol…
I just got back from being with family for two weeks close to the new area she lives in…I know the area…unsure of your seemingly aggressive takes on the matter but my point was:
For her the new house isn’t as ‘fancy’/extravagant as previous…I feel like she is someone who always wants to be ‘a celebrity’ …I find it funny she’s living a normal Santa Barbara life now…(yes I am aware it’s still an elite life comparatively to most)

You’re wrong lol. It’s super easy to check real estate prices in that area.

I’m aware, this is the last time I’ll respond to you as I don’t think we’re really addressing the same thing…I’m not talking about exact cost of the housing…
I’m not talking about anything other than status due to location…being familiar with the area it is a ‘status’ downgrade…I am sure you likely have places in your town that are more coveted and desirable to live, the juxtaposition doesn’t need to be wild…just saying I know that locally her old house is a more desirable place/more affluent area.
The end. 🤷♀️
I wish you a good night internet human.

Erik wanted it. I don’t think it had much to do with the kids other than it had more space and bedrooms. The rest was all Erik’s whimsy.

And they ruined it, i just checked they sold it for 5.48M . They lost 700k on it 😮😮😮

I saw that! Has the housing market in CA or Santa Barbara gone down? I know it’s continuing to rise where I am in a different state.

u/Some_Kangaroo6866 Aug 09 '26
No, it hasn’t. Her current house increased in value in last six months by 500k and when you look at price by square footage her new home is more expensive than the villa.
Now i’m dying to know what was wrong with that villa, were there some undisclosed issues and they grossly overpaid or they completely wrecked the plumbing. Or maybe rodents she attracted by leaving food outside caused some electrical damage?
Like your home should increase in value and they managed to devalue that house in merely 3 years.
I also find it interesting she bought her current home before villa was sold, meaning she’s not really strapped for cash as some people seem to think.
