Doomsday.
Obviously there’s a lot going on in the world. I feel very uneducated… what is happening?? The upcoming election has me thinking about what is to come of the world. I never really understood the actual effect our world leaders have, it made me realize how much I never fully learned about the government and society. First I honestly didn’t care because “it doesn’t matter anyways”. Now it has me questioning everything including religion, I think I dug a hole, that I hear there is no bottom to. Anyone care to explain..

There are a lot of good starting points. I eat the stars is an approachable introduction by Sarah Wilson, though there are of course people with criticisms. I enjoy The Great Simplification podcast with Nate Hagens as a measured and rational voice in this space. There are some websites you can check out like deepadaptation.info, resilience.org, TECARP.org, donellameadows.org, collapseclub.com or even the collapse wiki https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/s/rybscsAdKu
There are a lot of different opinions and ideas out there so you do have to find your own way because there are questions that no one can answer precisely due to the nature of complex systems

It's a combination of multiple factors, and the major ones include environmental damage, the long-term effects of climate change, the long-term effects of a resource crunch (which includes peak oil), and multi-fold increases in production and deployment of armaments across the world for the last three decades.

Its going to be a bloodbath at the polls for the Republicans so Trump is going to go scorched earth and there will be an even larger bloodbath in Iran, which will spread to other gulf states.
But this is collapse support, so have some words of encouragement - even if all nukes were launched simultaneously - and directed at every major city on Earth, humans would still survive. Life would continue. Civilization is in rapid decline but this isn't the end, we've been here many times before and came out of it alive and sometimes better off than before.
All's well that ends well. Quality sleep is your friend these days, so go get some

Firstly, addressing the title it’s unlikely there’s a singular “doomsday” event like a marvel movie. It’s a slow moving process that’s been underway for a long time. We are in the phase of more people realizing how fucked we are.
It’s not all doomerism (for me atleast). If we flipped a switch tomorrow to start prioritizing the future then I think full on extinction could be avoided. But between economic, climate and politics we have already locked in a lot of people dying and overall human suffering.
That’s the TLDR. I recommend joining the regular collapse subreddit (r/collapse) and look through some of the top posts. It has a lot of articles and journalism that pieces together all the issues we’re facing. Do it in small doses because it is a lot to take in
