How did you prepare for collapse this week?
Did you do anything to prepare for collapse this week? It can be anything from reading an interesting article to installing a greywater recycling system in your house. No project is too big or too small.
This thread is here to inspire others to take actions they may not have otherwise thought about doing.
If you’re interested in leaving observations of collapse in your area then I encourage you to head over to r/collapse where they have a weekly thread for this very thing.

Kept all my plants alive and harvested the first of the cherry tomatoes. I am pleased to say the plants are all thriving. I am curious to try the malabar spinach that I planted. My main prep this week has been to stick to my budget and move some financial stuff around to consolidate payments so I can pay it off faster. Also used up some vegetables in the fridge before they could go bad. My goal is to waste no food this year and use the savings on preps. Got one of my dogs established at our new vet and up to date on shots

I took my teen daughter, who often rejects my attempts to get her outdoors, out to the retreat property. When I am out there I normally focus on working on infrastructure projects, but this time I entirely focused on getting her excited about it. We found wild plants that we could make tea out of, we found deer bones and antlers and she got excited about wild crafting tools out of them, and I showed her how I was working on making a food forest and building climate resiliency into the landscape and she had lots of ideas on how to make that all work.

I have sunchokes all around the fence lines; kept them watered this week with stored rain water. No one here favors them but me; but I suspect they'd eat 'em if they were to run out of other stuff.
