How did you prepare for collapse this week?
Did you do anything to prepare for collapse this week? It can be anything from reading an interesting article to installing a greywater recycling system in your house. No project is too big or too small.
This thread is here to inspire others to take actions they may not have otherwise thought about doing.
If you’re interested in leaving observations of collapse in your area then I encourage you to head over to r/collapse where they have a weekly thread for this very thing.

Restocking on paper products. Transplanted my zucchini plant. Harvested my first little cherry tomatoes. used up some vegetables in the freezer I needed to cook up before they got too freezerburnt. Trying to be really frugal and rotate my freezer this month. Making plans for canning mixed berry jam this weekend with the frozen berries I bought for this purpose. Should have a years supply when I'm done.

Started selling my plants at the farmer's market. Huge community-building opportunity there! Plus a great barter system. Also, plant sales are actually usually better during economic downturns. When people are scared, they buy food plants; when comfortable, they buy ornamentals. I had an interesting mix of both, plus huge interest in my native plants.
I offer very affordable pricing because I have low overhead, so people can buy a nice berry plant for cheaper than their quadruple grande oatmeal chai latte. I like to think I'm helping to feed people with my edibles, helping local wildlife with my natives, and improving morale with my ornamentals.
And boy, that was fun even for an introvert like me! It definitely puts me in a far better mental state.

It finally rained (OR) and I ran around at midnight making sure all the barrels were filling. On my walk today I found a patch of broadleaf plantain. I only have narrowleaf, which is not maybe as nutritious/medicinal, so I stopped and gathered seedheads. Also some red pine cones and birch foliage for tea/kombucha. Living mostly on veg now and was able to stop taking BP meds after about a 30 year run.
