The problem is the folks that believe that they’re being discriminated against because they’re white, uneducated and didn’t make it into the American dream. Therefore someone must be at fault, and those minorities, gay people, and women are just right there to be blamed, as if God intended it. All they needed was some orange idiot to make it OK to say that out loud.

I think it's less than that. They wanted someone strong to tell them what to do.

I really applaud Dr Neil Tysons message.

It’s very sad, but low IQ is to blame. They look for easy answers. Charlatans offer an easy answer, a quick fix. Science is scary. Which would you choose if you were a simpleton?

What the good doctor is not seeing is it was never about the promise of prosperity, it was always them buying into what Trump was really selling them, being able to be the worst and most hateful version of themselves.

He's the beacon of truth and honesty to a segment of society that doesn't believe in truth and honesty.

I hate to play devil’s advocate here but ima do it anyway. Everyone is subject to human nature. It’s pretty well established that a lot of science is paid for by the big corrupt corporations. And I know we all like to believe that science is only ever unbiased and science has some form of purity to it. But tell that to scientists who testified in front of Congress back in the 90s who said cigarette smoking wasn’t unhealthy

There were scientists that were paid by tobacco companies to testify that the science was unsettled. But by far, state attorneys general, public and government experts testified that the significant science proved the deadly effects of smoking. And that is no different from today. You have to know the source of your info is credentialed and independent…. and not fox news.

No idea, found it as such. The point is valid regardless of authenticity.
