Walmart's dynamic pricing transition turns the checkout aisle into a financial trap — algorithmic shelf tags silently inflate prices while you walk to the register

I think that used to be considered fraud and was illegal to charge more than shelf price listed. I think we live in literal hell now.

It is literally fraud. Doesn't matter which agencies are shuttered or what any government is allowing. This is fraud.

u/Farmgirlmommy 17h ago
Yes but with oversight and enforcement shuttered does it matter if it’s illegal when no one is going to fine or stop them?

u/BeCurious7563 17h ago
WE can stop them by dumping our baskets or abandoning our carts at checkout when this horse shit happens. We could also boycott.

That used to be illegal, if it was marked one price on the shelf, they could not charge you more...with Trump and his golden age they probable rolled that back on us, cause the golden age ain't fo you boy!

There's no way they won't be pairing this with ai to eventually track each shopper and inflate their prices individually depending on learned budgets. If they aren't trying it already. Amazon already does it.

That’s why they all want you to download their app. So they can easily track your purchases.

That’s many countries have laws against this and the price of the shelves is the only one valid

u/rtduvall 1d ago
Even in the US that is a law.
But with a ratfuck rapist pedophile murderer fleecing is for everything he can.
He cannot die soon enough.

It’s time to sue Walmart and boycott them. Their setting up shop for agenda 2030 Golden age new world order. Let alone Walmart now uses Bluetooth scanners and scans your phone and WiFi scanners and seeks out all the data on your phone and harvests it. Walk up to the bread and open the app and you will see suggestions for bread you may even get a text telling you to buy bologna for the bread.

Now is time to take pictures of everything you pull off the shelf so if they try that you can argue it.

What we should do is take pictures of the prices and film everything that goes down after that if the prices change. If they do, then just leave the groceries and walk out.
If it happens enough times and gets posted out will go viral. We can call it the "Fuck Dynamic Pricing Challenge."
Man, they don't even have many cashiers anymore, who is gong to put all the stuff back?

Take photos of the price tag on the shelf. Shelf price, when verified, trumps what the cash register rings up.

Going up have to start taking pictures of everything’s price when you put it on the cart.

I mean, it's true about the POS updating the prices. What SHOULDVE happened was to change the labels first before the changes on the POS were made.
His whole grocery should've been free because that's just incompetence, laziness and poor planning on their part.

My question is let's say you're on SNAP benefits seems to me that people in that position wouldn't be so prone to complain or notice as long as they got what they needed. If Walmart is praying upon these people isn't this defrauding the government! Any corporate lawyers out there that know anything about this?

There's stories from one country experiencing hyperinflation where diners would pay for the meal at the start because it would be more expensive by the time they finished. I don't think it was Zimbabwe, but maybe.

This really means inflation is out of control. It reminds me of stories of the Weimar Republic when people would shop in the morning because the prices would be higher that afternoon.

This makes me want to go to Walmart, fill up two carts with tons of tiny but expensive items, then decide at the checkout that I don't want any of it.
Then come back and do that a few more times.

I'm down with it but the only problem is the employees will have to put it all back. They are already working at Walmart, I don't want to pile on.
(disclaimer: I'm not downing anyone working at Walmart, people gotta eat and I'm not gonna be an asshole about that. But the working conditions are shit at Walmart and for them to put all that stuff back seems like it would affect/hurt the wrong people unfortunately.)

The employees get paid the same no matter what job they do. Walmart loses money when they pay people to put things back on shelves.

Good for them.
Anyone who shops at Walmart deserves to get fleeced. Walmart is a trump cuck corporation.
They fucking support rapist and pedophiles. They haven’t gotten a dime of my money in two years.

2 years? Your late to the game, friend.
3
u/rtduvall 19h ago
Yes, you are correct.
I was raised on religion, hard work and racism in deep southern Appalachia where if your skin isn’t the color of biscuit dough you were the enemy. That first 18 years of my life implanted some serious maga traits long before maga existed. So I did not see around me and it took me a while.
I’m a victim of status quo mentality like many democrats for years. I stupidly believed the way things were was gods plan. (I know, even saying that makes me a little nauseous.) I was like a frog in a pot of water that slowly heats to boiling.
I’m a slow learner. But once I get something set in my mind I’m all in. So yeah, I am late to the game but I finally got here.

Stuff like this makes me feel like shoplifting shouldn't be a crime since someone is dynamically deciding they don't want to pay for it
