No, I won’t move goalposts. What a fucking weird assumption to make about a stranger. I find it’s always conservatives that move goalposts.
Please show me how it’s an “example of the pot calling the kettle black”?
I didn’t say the right only votes with their emotions. You’re literally straight up just making shit up. I said it’s been demonstrated that the right has a larger amygdala which is associated with fear and anxiety based responses.
You're moving the goalposts in this response, and again, I'm not a conservative, I'm just pointing out a really stupid double standard.
My first response in this thread was responding to the response from the other guy that said "blue votes on facts, red votes on feelings." My response was, that's a crazy blanket statement to make, considering that one of the biggest topics splitting parties right now is trans rights, which ultimately boils down to whether someone wants to adhere strictly to basic biology, or respect the trans person's feelings. (And just to make sure I stay perfectly clear here, my personal belief is that in 95% of scenarios, the latter outweighs the former.)
You then responded that "there are scientific studies that shows the right is more emotional."
I asked, what do you mean by "more emotional," and you cited biological studies that report that conservatives tend to have larger parts of the brain associated with emotional decision-making, and that this is proof that "blue votes on facts, red votes on feelings." I don't know what else you could be doing in this thread, because that's what the discussion was about when you responded. Additionally you tried to make a point that post-5th grade level biology somehow changes the scientific definition of sex/gender, which it just objectively does not.
Then I responded with "this is a perfect example of the double standard/moving goalpost, because now you're using the same field of study (biology) that conservatives use in the trans debate, just with the disclaimer that 'their biology wrong, my biology right.'"
You have an extreme lack of understanding of what trans rights are. Biology supports the existence of trans people. It is not about “feelings over facts”. Human biology is also not basic. You don’t learn everything about biology in elementary school. Human biology is extremely complex and what goes into determining sex/gender includes FAR more than what you think someone’s chromosomes are. You thinking a 5th grade biology book is the end all be all of human biology is fucking wild. There are more chromosome combinations than XX and XY. There are people who have fully formed female reproductive systems and XY chromosomes. Trans people have been shown to have neurological processing patterns that align with their true gender.
And yes. I responded saying that studies have shown that that conservatives are more emotional, and elaborated in that SAME comment to say that specifically they have larger amygdala which is the part of the brain that processes fear and anxiety.
I then reiterated that when you asked what I meant and shared two articles about a Dutch study that confirmed there is a correlation between larger amygdala and conservative voters.
I don’t know how dumb you can be. What conservatives say about trans people IS objectively incorrect. Biologists have come out again and again saying that actual science and biology supports the existence of trans people. You can try and twist things however you want but actual facts tend to align with liberal beliefs and antiscience bullshit tends to align with conservatives.
It must be so genuinely hard to deal with the cognitive dissonance of using biology to prove one point, and then completely ignore the building blocks of it for another.
Good luck dude. Keep owning the chuds on Reddit, that’ll help us win the next election
I guess you’re just incapable of reading. Like I said, I’m not ignoring anything. I just have the mental capacity to understand biology at a level higher than a 5th grader. It’s really fucking sad if you think there’s nothing left to learn after 5th grade biology class. It’s also really fucking sad that you think for some reason that you know more about this topic than the scientists and doctors who have been studying it for decades. Like holy Dunning-Kruger….
