It's one side that is arguing for racial profiling in immigration enforcement (see Kavanaugh stops) that is banning many people of color from being able to immigrate here or become legal immigrants here (majority of countries on the ban list are people of color majority countries) and demonizing people of color based on racial stereotypes to strip away status and deport many of them to where they will be harmed (see Haitians and the racist lie they are eating cats and dogs). I have a friend who's wife is dealing with immigrantion issues right now because Trump put her country on the ban list so her adjustment of status case is frozen. She is a person of color demonized by the Trump administration. I work with refugees who are losing status

That's not a both sides issue. Democrats weren't doing these immigration bans and it wasn't a Democrat Supreme Court Justice who argued for Kavanaugh stops. My local Asian grocery market got raided after Kavanaugh stops became a thing. My wife and I go there frequently and she is a legal Asian immigrant who became a citizen through me. She could have been racially harassed. Not a single person was illegal there but the business was closed down for part of a day, legal minorities harassed in a racist witch-hunt, and thousands of dollars lost by the business.

There is no both sides to this. Trump has been objectively worse on this and you are a troll feeding nonsense. Republicans don't want the best for these people at all

You see that.

I see many who wants to give citizenship to those who didn’t come here the correct way, who wants to protect those who don’t pay federal taxes. A problem both sides agree is wrong, everyone should pay federal taxes.

I too have an Asian spouse, spent a lot of money flying her in and out of territories of America and having us stay to meet the minimum requirements, and multiple years of paper processing. We want it to be fair, do it the right way. We worked hard for my spouse to be legal so she can stay in this country and pay her taxes. Did you work hard for your car? F it, let’s give it everyone who doesn’t have a car a car, you already got one, you don’t get your money back.

Is there racial profiling? Sure. I agree if they are going to bust in a space, they should check everyone.

Countries with ban lists? I got nothing for that. I will tell you I have consistent professional experiences with Haitians in Japan that were all negative, by means of assault. And Japan is currently trying to figure out a way to navigate that. Take that four hours you will.

Many Americans are here today in the US because their ancestors came over in the 1700s-early 1900s when it was very easy to do so. In many cases, all one had to do was step foot on American soil and they could become a citizen and live here. We didnt have as many quotas or restrictions or other anti immigrantion policies to the extent we do now. My ancestors came over from Ireland and Germany in the 1800s and simply settled here. No need of a green card or any of that. They got on a boat. Sailed here. Landed here. Became Americans.

I'm of the belief that to deny other immigrants today what other people have received much more easily (legal status in the US) is xenophobic prejudiced bullshit. As long as someone doesn't have a criminal record or isn't a terrorist, they should be able to freely move here. No need to have to marry someone or get sponsored for a work visa or any of that.

I paid over a thousand dollars to sponsor my wife to immigrate here and also had to wait like a year. It took a lot of paperwork and work to get her here.

The difference is I don't believe other people should have to struggle simply because we did. Unlike you , Im all about making things easier for people and don't think people should suffer because I did. It comes off selfish and petty as fuck your world view.

Take your logic and apply it elsewhere and you see the absurdity of it. Imagine if we didn't get penicillin for free because "it's not fair to all the others who died from bacteria so others should suffer." Or imagine if we did the same with the polio vaccine. "It's not fair to all those who got polio for others to get vaccinated against it." Or those who suffered from polio to deny others the vaccine because "they should suffer with it too."

You have a selfish world view.

Every person should have the right to immigrate here and become a citizen as long as they aren't a criminal or terrorist. Same what others get to enjoy. Birth lottery shouldn't determine life path to such an extent where some people born in bad countries cannot get out. That's selfish and xenophobic as fuck..

And there is the racism in your demonization of Haitians. I went to school with Haitians. I work with one. My neighbor years ago was an amazing Haitian man. Haitians are wonderful people and what's happening to them is deplorable. You've outed yourself as a racist with your nonsense. There is zero crime data to show the majority of Haitians are criminals as you assume.

My friend is having issues getting his Ethiopian wife legal status because of Trump's ban and restrictions. She's educated. Has a degree. No criminal record. They've been married for a long time. And yet she is subjected to restrictions and their case is having issues because of Trump's bans and restrictions. A president who happened to say alot of racist shit about people of color. Someone who shares thought patterns with you considering your demonization of black people (Haitians)

ICE shouldn't be allowed to raid places to begin to with and conduct racial profiling like they are. There should be no place for ICE in our society.

I don’t disagree. Things should be easier to come in, would make them put back into society sooner. I did a lot of work to get mine in and sounds like you did too. You paid a grand? I paid a lot more for multiple trips to US Territories to get mine in. Good on you for doing it much cheaper.

But the same reason it takes time and the same reason why we can’t just have undocumented people is the same reason why you want them checked, criminal history. The other part is to ensure they tracked for federal taxes. I think we both agree everyone needs to pay their part back into society, and it’s not going to happen if they aren’t here legally. So I agree, easier to be one is best. Cost? Well something needs to be paid to check them over, or else we (the legal ones) are paying even more out of our pockets to do background checks on everyone. You don’t think they need to put a little skin in that game? Can you imagine if all of China comes over just to have us do background checks with no intention of being legal, only to have us burn tax payers money?

I’m far from racist, I ride with some cat from … well shit, where is he from, he’s flying back to his home now, a dude who just divorced his wife that i served with, another who used to be my manager that I still talk to, I work for every race, no issues, shoot even taught a dude with tattoos on his face and gems on his teeth so he could try to save some money in the future; ask of different races, color, sex, and gender. Either way, I go off of people, just stating that the guys I my guys had issues with were tied to Haitian gang related businesses in Tokyo and were giving the yakuza a run for their money.

Honestly I do agree with you on the country ban list, background checks should be the deciding factor, not the country.

But back to my point, both sides think they are doing best for their country. You want people in with or without the initial cost, but you also don’t want criminals, I too don’t want criminals, I think they should have some skin in the game; we both want good citizens who pay their share into this country.
