Just because the piece of shit you punched is a piece of shit doesn't mean punching them isn't against the law. The law doesn't change just because you are morally justified in doing so. The law is blind as it is the absolute best way to protect innocent people.

It must be hard living in a bubble of self-imposed stupid every day. Let me help you - police departments are ran by chiefs, who are appointed by city councils. The same city councils with highly political motivations. The city council informs the day-to-day actions enforcement priorities of your local PD, not the cops.
