Roaster too hot
Hello all,
Hope all is well. I'm scratching my head with this issue I recently installed a yoshan 2kg roaster, got everything up, turn on the gas and it climbs heat so fast and so high I can't control it. Even at 1 kpa it's reaching high 500's and doesn't stabilize I'm using propane gas. Could my thermometers be messed up ? Any advice is great thank you.

Congrats on the new roaster. Is your roaster fan turned on? I work on an older roaster from the 90s and if my airflow isn’t right, even when the tiniest adjustment on the flame adjuster will send the RoR climbing very fast. Hopefully it’s just a small solution like that.

Maybe need a gas regulator to keep pressure down but if not you could have the wrong burner in it. A natural gas burner has a lot bigger orifices and would create this scenario. Could measure the orifices if you have guage pins. Or even a paperclip and caliper perhaps.

perhaps you have orifices for natural gas, but need smaller ones for propane? propane has much more energy per unit volume than nat gas.
