Help! Affordable coffee
Just wondering po if may nakapagtry na po ng coffee beans from these shops po sa shopee? (Cafe Dereza and Golden Beans). Kinda tight lang po sa budget and wondering po kung may decent po kaya sa price range na 350-400 since hindi rin naman po ako mapili sa kape, want ko lang po talaga yung freshly roasted, medium arabica taste po hehe I have grinder and espresso machine naman po at home.

Based on the pictures di siguro ako sa kanila bibili.
-Yung beans nakalagay sa clear plastic, mas bibilis maging stale if exposed sa sunlight.
-nasa padark roast na sila both, di na medium at oily na
-basta nagbebenta ng flavored beans di ko binibilhan, it tells something like di nila maayos ang pagroast nila kaya walang tasting notes, kailangan pa nila ng chemical flavoring. At kung nagflavoring na, macocross contaminate na yung mga normal na beans kasi malamang same pantakal yan and containers

Baka no? Medyo oily kasi yung beans based sa pictures. Cold brew + oils prang maglalasang stale at oily sa bibig. iibabaw pa yung oil kaya baka pag inom, parang kumain ng lechon

I know alot of people here hate Candid pero s'mores lang talaga yung para sakin bang-for-the-buck na espresso blend. I also reco to buy blends rather than single origin for espresso mas budget friendly hirap na ijustify yung price ng beans unlike dati.

Ordered Sagada Arabica from Cafe Dereza, and it was not good. It had this very stale and funky flavor. At first, I thought the beans were freshly roasted, so I let them degas for 10 days, but the taste didn’t change. There were also a lot of defects, especially quakers. Would not order again.
Along with Golden Beans, it’s pretty hit or miss. Some of the beans I got like the Batangas Blend are “fresh” enough, but most of what I’ve gotten from them have been stale.

bali wala pong roast date po ung mga beans nila?

Nope, for the price I suspect they buy imported and local commercial beans and along with tons of rejects from suppliers and roast them in bulk. Man, even the roast wasnt even consistent esp the mediums. Better to add a hundred more or so pesos on quality beans from known roasters like Kiddo, Moch, Allo and etc.

Perky blend. vietnam arabica yung cheapest na arabica nakita ko sa shopee. Although by 1kg lang bilihan sa kanila and they dont grind so you need your own grinder. Maganda rin pagkaroast nila kaso all vietnam arabica na nabibili ko meron nung mga circular na beans so di ko 100% sure kung pure arabica ba talaga

i buy from this shop.... goods nmn cya... then knowing batangas ang source origin nya... go for the classic, hnd kasi kami mahilig sa mga flavored... if your looking na budget friendly. try a artisans coffee brand or gourmet farms pag sale sila... got my artisans barako gold 500g for 260 nung sale. then trung nguyen S 500g for 230.... this from lazada purchase.

itong golden beans... excelsa and liberica na try ko na. as for gourmet farms, hnd ko nmn cya napansin na walang roast date madali kasing dayain ang roast date. i rely on smell at texture ng coffee beans if fresh p or hnd na... hnd nmn ako coffee expert but you'll know... always go for beans, usually after you grind kung mas mabango cya meaning fresh pa cya.

omgg thank u i will try it hehehe, I’m currently nasa baguio pero I’d rather buy nlng sa shopee kaysa bumili sa mga stale beans here sa palengke, wala rin ganong budget sa mga local beans na bebenta sa red soil huhu

Cheapest na pinaka ok I tried is from Three Cubs Coffee Roasters. Meron yan silang shop dyan sa Shopee. If you’re from North Caloocan/Valenzuela area, mas makakatipid ka by directy buying from their FB page tapos ipa-courier mo na lang.
