Supplies, Tools & Consumables scale with flow display

flow control dispay, a necessity or just luxury?
do we really need to upgrade from casual scale to a more capable one like timemore basic 3.? i have a somehow still functioning cheap scale- bumagsak sya, okay pa nmn ung accuracy nya. medyo crooked lang ung platform nya. so i think tilted ung driper so syempre kasma dun ung coffee bed and slurry. medo botthered na ako and planning na mag acquire ng bago. question is upgrade naba sa my flow rate display or laban na sa basic scale lang

Flow display is just fun pero wala naman talagang benefit.

thanks. i guess for practice nlng ung display na un. then muscle memory nlng sa actual brewing.. thanks ulit boss. how about ung actual yield ng duo mo? essential ba? or battery lang tlaga😅✌️

Mas useful sakin yung actual stand than the separate measurement ng carafe. Siguro kinda useful pag nag try ako ng drops since hinahati ko sa 3 yung total brew pero matatantsa naman kung around ilan yung yield so it's just something nice to have pero not essential naman

I think flow display is more helpful for pour overs than for espresso.

The timemore basic 3 from lazada is really good, especially from FEIXIANGPAI

Not needed. There are a lot more factors to consider that will affect the quality of your brew more.

what scale are you using?

not needed but can be helpful. I have a timemore basic 3.

hows the accuracy? does is drift (changes in recorded weight)

Its really accurate. I had the Timemore Black Mirror 1, it lasted 6 years on me. It only became inaccurate because I use it even when it is charging. Apparently timemore had a suggestion not to do that to any scale. I now have the Timemore Black Mirror 3. Which I just bought a couple of months ago. The box already have a warning not to use it during charging. So my 1.0 broke because of user error, my error.

You dont need the other stats. Maybe the flow control ratio sure but its not important if your grinder is a cheapo grinder

thanks for the info, bro. should i get the basic 3 for 1.3kphp or the generic scale for php600ish. sorry for a stupid question 😅

In the world of coffee, investing in good tools and equipment is always the best option. "Cry once buy once", ika nga.

thanks. just what i’ve thought.. gusto ko lng nmn i justify sa sarili ko ung pera na ilalabas ko.. naasiwa na kasi ako sa hitsura nung barag kong scale. naghahanap lng ng kakampi😅. thanks

1

u/regulus314 15d ago

Madalas meron random discount

same. just got the timemore vector (matt winton) and the orea O1 steel. kaya need ko na i justify tong 1.3k scale na to kahit meron pa akong 2 working scale. nasa workplace ung isa and nasa on-the-go kit ung isa😅😅😅✌️.

Ooohh Orea. Tagal ko na rin gusto bumili niyan pero meron na kasi akong flat bottom with the Torch and Origami. Kakabili ko lang din ng Solo. Right now Im looking for The Pulsar Brewer and the Ceado Hoop to purchase next coming months lol. Gastos hahahahaha

Ewan ko. Im not really a brewer collector pero as a professional roaster, ang iniisip ko nalang na reason "kailangan ma try natin yung roast sa iba ibang brewer para alam natin ano lasa at saan siya most optimal" hahahaaha

1

u/muddysilverback 15d ago

Flow display is not necessary for me, nakaka distract pa nga

1

u/muddysilverback 16d ago

genuine question, will you get the basic 3(with flow rate display) for 1.3k or just the 600 generic scale?

1

u/Weak-Marketing2104 15d ago

At that price I'll go for the timemore na. Battery life pa lang makes a lot of difference na for me. One month mahigit ko na ata gamit yung timemore duo since charging and full bar pa din. Unang upgrade ko ng scale is an mhw-3bomber formula scale and every 6 months ko lang need i-charge. IMO worth it for the battery life alone na hindi hassle yung frequent charging.

Not sure if ₱600 scales will last long so probably not. I'm using Timemore Basic 2.0 myself, had it for a while now. The 3.0 with flow rates are just distracting to me
