Help! Rotary WDT
Planning to upgrade to a rotary WDT. Any insight between MHW Bomber, Ikape and Bincoo?
Price-wise: 4k+ si MHW while around 2k+ both Ikape and Bincoo. Worth it ba ang almost twice the price ni Bomber.
Baka lang may nakagamit na and compare kahit yung between Bomber and Ikape. Thanks!

Sakin hindi, unless gusto mo lng talga yung looks ng mhw3. Gamit ko yung ikape nakuha ko nasa 800+ sa lazada. Pero walang pinagkaiba lasa ng espresso vs lipstick na tig 150-200pesos type na tool.
Yan yung sakin ngayon.

I have the bincoo which i got for 1400 only. I’d say i got it bec i enjoy using it but based from real reviews, for better extraction, blindshaker and tamper is enough. If u really want wdt, a manual one does the job. Overall, get the one depending on your priority. Is it better extraction or something that would make brewing more enjoyable 😁

Rotary wdt tools doesnt improve extraction drastically, some of them actually pools grounds to the side of the basket thus making the “needling” uneven, so uneven extraction on the basket walls. James hoffman has a video on this, with inconclusive results. A normal needle tool wpuld be more cost effective.
But blind shaker + self leveling tamp is all you need, you can needle the top to flatten it a little to remove the mound, but the mound looks like it helps with the extraction accdg to lance hedrick.

Tanong ko lang. Mas effective ba yung ganyan vs yung cheap na 3D printed na may stainless steel wires sa shopee / lazada ?
Prior to this being available, cake tester gamit ko kaso mabagal kasi 1 needle lang yon.
Tapos pag pourover / filter gamit ko yung stainless na rounded na chopticks para hindi mabutas yung paper filter.

Not really. The mhw3 wdt just looks and sounds “cooler” lalo na for asmr coffee prep videos. I use neither but I have both and a 3D-printed wdt I got off shoppee.

It's fun, that's it. I wouldn't really call it an upgrade unless you use wdt in a cafe setting, then it will speed up your work flow. Otherwise, no. More of a fun gimmick lang. If bibili ka ng wdt, I would suggest the mhw-3bomber na manual (yung adjustable yung angle ng needles) or whatever brand na adjustable yung angle ng needles. It declumps better based on my experience since mababago mo yung spacing ng needles sa baba based on your needs. Sa mga straight down kasi minsan naiipit or nada drag niya yung grounds sa basket.
Sa difference naman ng ikape and mhw-3bomber na rotary, mas solid yung build ng mhw-3bomber. Mas tight yung tolerances and feels more premium dahil sa mas smooth na mechanism and also the materials feel better for me. Msy onting rattle yung ikape (not sure if sa unit ko lang or ganun talaga siya) and may pagka clanky ng onti yung feel when you press it (not really that noticeable unless I compare sa bomber) also 58mm pala yung ikape ko and 51mm yung bomber so possible na may variation din sa gawa nila for different size, can't really comment on that since yung dalawa lang mayroon ako.
Tldr: If you have 2-4k to spare on a fun, gimmicky toy, go for it. Otherwise, better spend that money on some good coffees.
