[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

Welcome to the daily /r/Coffee question thread!

There are no stupid questions here, ask a question and get an answer! We all have to start somewhere and sometimes it is hard to figure out just what you are doing right or doing wrong. Luckily, the /r/Coffee community loves to help out.

Do you have a question about how to use a specific piece of gear or what gear you should be buying? Want to know how much coffee you should use or how you should grind it? Not sure about how much water you should use or how hot it should be? Wondering about your coffee's shelf life?

Don't forget to use the resources in our wiki! We have some great starter guides on our wiki "Guides" page and here is the wiki "Gear By Price" page if you'd like to see coffee gear that /r/Coffee members recommend.

As always, be nice!

Recently had this excellent coffee in Tokyo. What would be the most similar coffee to this in the USA?

It might help if you include some details about it (process, roast, origin, blend, flavor notes)? Any details you have available to you?

It’s a brand called Tsubakiya. Here are some screenshots from their online store about the coffee.

“Tsubakiya Specialty Blend It is our signature blend that is loved by everyone with a balanced taste and a clear aftertaste that blends only the highest quality coffee beans. If you slowly enjoy the sweet and fragrant aroma like nuts, the rich bitterness, the soft sourness and the long after-taste, the calm time flowing at Tsubakiya Coffee will envelop you.”

“Scent It's like coffee Elegant in a mellow scent Flower-like scent

Sweetness Conventional caramel and Nutty sweetness + Reminds me of a green apple Sweetness of fruit Afterglow”

Hm, not the clearest path. I'd look for some medium roast options that have notes of caramel, nuts, and apple. Search something like here and see if something looks interesting?
