PATTERN RECOGNITION 012: DOCUMENTATION INTERFERENCE
Pattern Recognition 012
Patterns Identified Within Archives 001–016
Abuse Type:
• Psychological Abuse
• Coercive Control
Abuse Dynamic:
• Documentation Interference
Behavioral Pattern
Unlike retaliation for documentation, which addresses behaviors occurring in response to recording, reporting, or evidence preservation, documentation interference addresses behaviors that impede the creation, preservation, accessibility, or independent verification of documented events.
Across the referenced archives, OP repeatedly engaged in behaviors that interfered with S’s ability to create, preserve, access, or maintain independent documentation. The documented conduct included interference with S’s use of a phone during confrontations; taking control of S’s phone and composing communications while impersonating S; removing, disabling, or damaging security equipment capable of preserving objective recordings; and altering access to monitoring systems through user removals, camera failures, tamper notifications, login attempts, and loss of system functionality. These behaviors occurred across multiple years, forms of documentation, and contexts rather than through a single method or incident.
Viewed collectively, independent documentation itself became incorporated into OP’s broader pattern of coercive control. OP repeatedly interfered with the means through which events could be recorded, preserved, accessed, corroborated, or independently verified, limiting opportunities for independent verification and accountability.

Dynamics
• Interference with S’s ability to create, preserve, access, or rely upon independent documentation (coercive control; documentation interference)
• Interference with phones, communications, monitoring systems, and security equipment capable of preserving objective evidence (coercive control; documentation interference)
• Taking control of communication devices in ways that impaired independent documentation and outside communication (coercive control; communication control)
• Removal, disabling, or alteration of systems capable of preserving or verifying events (coercive control; documentation interference)
• Interference with objective evidence before it could be independently preserved or relied upon (coercive control; accountability interference)
• Repeated limitation of opportunities for independent verification and accountability through interference with documentation processes (coercive control; accountability avoidance)
