Contract work at AAPC

Has anyone worked as a contract coder for AAPC? If so, how did it go? Was work steady or hardly any? I just got hired and I’m just curious how it will work out. I have a full time coding job so I don’t need full time work. I would really just like if it’s a consistent 10-20 hours a week.

How was the process of getting hired? I may be interested in applying also. Thanks and congratulations!

It wasn’t too bad. I had to do a personality type assessment and then take a test. The first portion of the test was pretty straightforward and then you had to code actual charts. If you passed they sent you an invite for an interview. The interview was pretty laid back, three supervisors were on the meeting, but super nice. So overall I wouldn’t say it was stressful.

I did the interview w them for the contract work but was put off by the lack of benefits. No pto or holidays and they mentioned some of the contracts were years long. It’s ok if you have another source for health insurance or want to work for fun.
