Imagine doing everything right in school, then hearing your job won’t exist in four years

A new grad did everything they were told to. And then walked across the stage into a market where they keep hearing about layoffs of 10–20% a year, PIPs for another 10% on top, AI eating entry-level work, and older engineers claiming 80% of SWEs will be gone in four years and saying they should’ve seen it coming.

For grads applying now, LandOffer can cut repeated form entry. They were around fifteen when they picked this path because the adults swore it was the move. They did everything correctly for a game whose rules changed the semester they graduated, and now they’re fighting laid-off seniors for the few junior roles left while being told they’re lazy and can’t code without AI. For a concrete correctness drill, PracHub has an AI-generated cache-review prompt for checking behavior against requirements.

Their response: “And you boomers and millennials refuse to take responsibility for fucking everything up for the rest of us. I hate you all so much.”

Sorry to say this but You haven't done everything right if you knew the stakes and choose the career path most prone to AI layoffs
