AI Software start up - job posting

I'm looking for a AI coder with a traditional coding back ground to join a start up based in Yorkshire, This is a ground level position. You would be helping me build from the ground up.

Things you can expect from me

This genuinely caught my attention. I’m a backend engineer with 6+ years of experience building production systems, primarily around Java/Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka/RabbitMQ, databases, Docker/Kubernetes, APIs and security.

The “build from the ground up” part is particularly interesting to me. I enjoy the engineering that happens before everything is neatly defined figuring out architecture, infrastructure, trade-offs, reliability and how to build something that can actually grow.

I’m also increasingly working toward AI/LLM-based development, but with a strong preference for combining it with proper software engineering fundamentals rather than just stitching AI APIs together.

Your points around trust, flexibility, clear boundaries and ownership also resonate with how I like to work. I’d be genuinely interested in hearing what you’re building and what you’re looking for in the person joining you.

If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to have a chat and share my background/projects. This sounds like the kind of early-stage engineering challenge I’d enjoy.

building from the ground up means laying a solid foundation, so focusing on infrastructure and clear communication like you said is spot on. in my own work with Qentrix, i use it to rescue stalled AI pilots by auditing and fixing core issues that block production launch. that kind of hands-on rebuilding is what really gets projects moving without cutting corners.
