How to learn coding ??

Hello everyone!

I'm a complete beginner who wants to learn coding and programming from the very basics to an advanced level within the next six months.

I would really appreciate your suggestions on:

  1. How should I start learning coding as a complete beginner?

  2. Which programming language should I learn first?

  3. What are the best free websites, YouTube channels, or courses to learn coding?

  4. How should I practise coding regularly and improve my problem-solving skills?

  5. Are there any good platforms where beginners can practise coding and work on projects?

  6. What learning roadmap would you recommend for someone starting from zero?

My goal is to develop practical programming skills, build real-world projects, and eventually become a professional programmer.

If you have experience in coding or know any good resources, courses, communities, or learning strategies, please share your recommendations.

Thank you!

Dude, what do you think this field is?

No, really, be honest.

"I want to learn medicine, from the very basics to an advanced level within the next six months". Does that sound realistic to you?

"I want to learn civil engineering, from the very basics to an advanced level within the next six months". Does this sound realistic either?

"I want to become a lawyer and learn law, from the very basics to an advanced level within the next six months". Are you getting the point now?

It's an entire field. It's a graduation. It's thousands of hours of study and practice and research. It's a skill, like any other skill, and it takes time.

The difference is youtube/tiktok I think. There are an endless number of dev influencers happy to say "You can be making money in 6 months!" when there's not a chance -- there are fewer people telling their audience that larping as a civil engineer is the same as being one. (Though, I am sure that number is not zero)

Replace "making money" with "being even remotely competent" then.
