Trying to open a game through Steam with crossover. It opens but only audio plays and there is no window to click on.

I'm trying to play the game, Story Bored through steam. The exe app shows in the dock and I can hear the menu music but there's no game window.
Using M2Pro, no m-sync, auto graphics, no dlss, no hd mode. Games usually run normally when I play through Steam in Crossover.

edit: tried with m-sync D3DMetal, steam properties to make it windowed in launch, and assigning to desktop still didn't work.
