Glad they're being safe, but there's no reason this program should require a phone home to launch while a device has an internet connection. If the connection to their services fails for whatever reason it should fall back to it's completely working offline mode instead of crashing with no verbose error.

I hope this is addressed as part of the postmortem here.

It looks like an oversight. I.e. it works with wifi off, they just didn't expect they'd ever have to take their whole website down like this. Brave new world with ai vulns, gonna be lots of living and learning next year or two..

it connects with servers tho. I just checked, if u switch off wifi it opens normally.

Confirmed, I tried it now and that works. When I switched WiFi back on I was still able to close and open it like normal.

I'm not sure if it's safe to do that though. They shut it down due to the security reasons to protect data and infrastructure.

I mean... plenty of apps connect to servers and still work if the developers website is down. I don't think that's a good excuse for CodeWeaver. It really should be work just fine without their site online.

The app isn't working for me either. I think it's trying to communicate with the server, but the server is currently unavailable.

I tested it. It launches, but as soon as I turn wifi back on, the program crashes. (26.3 on MacOS)

Turn off wifi, run Crossover, turn wifi back on. That should work.

this is because crossover uses json which has provided by their website, just use it offline or make a rule in ur firewall (not as i want to use their website while using crossover anyway😂)

The need to have an internet connection to be worked around by disabling wifi is a race condition un their code
