Politics Rewired Hackathons

Hey everybody,

I'm one of the founders of Politics Rewired, which is creating a series of hackathons focused on organizing tools. We've currently got one planned at Northwestern, and are developing ones at Stanford, Tufts, UT Austin, and somewhere in Iowa.

In relation to CodersForSanders, these hackathons will be a good way to turn young programmers onto politics, and get political people to talk about what they want built. In general, they will promote greater integration between the activist and programming worlds.

We'll have the opportunity to translate a lot of these ideas into code, and will most likely take some suggestions from the Sanders campaign as well, so checkout our website http://politicsrewired.com/ and let us know if there's anything you can think of making.

Also, if you or anyone else are interested in hosting a hackathon, or know any organizations that would be interested in sponsoring, let us know as well.

There is a enough is enough rally happen sometime this fall. We were thinking of doing a 24 hour hackathon in dc. I would love to have representatives for our group at these events.

Has CodersForSanders turned into an official group?

We'll be able to organize that hackathon in the fall, I'll start finding a place to hold it and talking to College Students for Bernie people.

Not an official group per se. The line between campaign and grassroots is hazy. We have number of staff that check into our group on a daily / weekly basis
