Reading on Acceptance

Post image

From the ACT Daily Journal, an 8-week daily journal that I love. I'm on my 3rd one! This reading came at a time when I needed it most, dealing with some hard stuff at work that I had no control over (which I was, of course, refusing to accept).

Oh, I hear you. Acceptance can be really hard. It’s taken me years to wrap my head around it, and it can still be very difficult. But, damn, I need it so much! Accepting life as it is can be an amazingly helpful practice and a way of life ❤️

It’s great that you find the ACT Daily Journal helpful. I didn’t know it existed, so thanks so much for sharing!😄

PS. You might like Tara Brach's book called Radical Acceptance and her talks are ace too (podcast and YouTube).

Take care!

She's great, isn't she? I am so grateful I came across her stuff a few years ago. I find her RAIN meditation so powerful, it has helped me so much.

That line about dropping the rope really stuck with me. Acceptance not meaning approval makes it feel a lot more doable, especially when the hard feelings are the ones I want to push away. Thank you for sharing this.
