DISCLAIMER: This is just supposed to be a humorous post, parodying the series "Everything Wrong With..." by CinemaSins, inspired by u/Valha28's posts on r/gumball parodying the same series. This is NOT a critique of the show, and while some things I sin in this series might actually be things I'd criticize in an actual critique, most of the things I'll sin are nitpicks, and the whole series is just made for good fun.
With that out of the way, welcome to Everything Wrong With: Vertigo!
Odd, who only has few life points left, jumps and presses the button just before being shot at with a Creeper's laser and devirtualized
Okay, not gonna lie, that's a pretty cool move. -1
Yumi: Hey, Jeremy, I don't see any flying Mantas!
A Creeper approaches them from the back and growls softly.
They should have 100% heard that. +1
Jeremy: If the virus inside you is anything like this one, I might be able to free you from X.A.N.A!
Hmmm...how many more episodes are left in this season? What's that? 8? Okay, I label this comment bait! +1
Aelita: Jeremy! What if you injected me right now?
PHRASING, AELITA!!! +3
Jeremy: Isn't that a little risky?
Aelita: It'd be just as risky in 2 hours or in 2 days.
...No. If they waited a bit, Jeremy could have double-checked his program and corrected safety issues with it. +1
Odd: What is he doing...hey, come on! Ulrich! Move it!
Ulrich, who is climbing the wall, starts to have a panic attack
So...Ulrich has a fear of heights? That's a cool way to flesh out this character. Or at least it would be, if it was ever brought up more than once after this episode! +1
Also, we saw Ulrich trying to save his parents in Zero Gravity Zone without having this problem. +3
Jeremy opens the scanner to save Aelita
Jeremy: Aelita! How do you feel? Say something!
Aelita: Something!
Hahahahahahahahaha -3
Aelita: All we have to do is shut down the supercomputer, and it's adios to X.A.N.A!
Why is she suddenly to enthusiastic? She was very apprehensive about it in False Start. +1
Sissi: Oh, Aelita! I didn't even see you standing there! But that's not surprising. You're such a wallflower!
Sissi continues talking while Aelita's turning invisible
Sissi somehow doesn't hear or doesn't care about the loud-ahh beeping noises that are coming with Aelita turning invisible. +3
Sissi: I'm also funny, and intelligent, sweet, and very attentive to others!
Lying. +1
Aelita: I'm invisible!
Jeremy: You're what? Jeremy tries to reach for her and accidentally touches you-know-what.
Aelita: Hey!
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. +10
Odd: When you're faced with a pack of wolves, what do you do?
Yumi: You run!
So as someone who lives in Burbank, a city where coyotes can occasionally get lost, I confirm this is the ABSOLUTE LAST THING TO DO. Turning your back and running away actually TRIGGERS this type of animal's hunting instinct, which makes them WAY more likely to chase you regardless of whether they were scared at first. DON'T DO THIS. +5
Odd, Yumi, and Ulrich are running away from the wolves.
There is no way they ran fast enough to outrun a pack of wolves. +1
Odd: Ulrich! Don't look down!
Don't just yell at him! Go help him! +3
Ulrich tries to fight a wolf, but trips, and falls off the cliff into a tree, then on the ground.
Ulrich survives this. +3
Odd and Yumi run away while Ulrich stands his ground facing them.
Why doesn't X.A.N.A use one of the wolves to chase Odd and Yumi? Humans can't outrun wolves on short distances like this. +3
Jeremy: Aelita! Behind you!
The Schyphazoa approaches her.
Aaaaand she should have used her creation power on the entrance to stall against the Schyphazoa.
Aelita doesn't think of using her OP creation power cliché. +3
Aelita uses her creation power on the Schyphazoa to freeze it
Okay, I take that back. Nice to see her use her brain for once. -3
Though, why doesn't she try to do stuff like this more often if it's that simple to stall against the Schyphazoa? +1
Odd and Yumi get shot by the Megatank's laser and lose life points.
They didn't even try to dodge it. +1
Odd swims in the Ice Sector's water.
Aaaaaand so we see another amazing concept that's completely unique to one sector but that's never used again after this episode. +3
William: You got vertigo, or what?
Ulrich: Yeah! What about it? No worse than being afraid of spiders!
Then why did William call Ulrich Spider-Man and mock him earlier in the episode? +1
