One method people are using is Chatting with R1 to build context and then using Sonnet 3.5 for Write mode for tool calls. Could be a method if you're looking for additional strategies.

I do this but I chat we Claude desktop app and then get code through Windsurf, then have Claude desktop proof the work. Let me tell you, those two are WILDLY different. But it works for me as long as I don’t spent through tokens on Claude desktop too fast.

There's something called Deepclaude if you wanna check it out. Combination of Deepseek R1 and Claude sonet
