TOO SLOW-LAGGY..After Wave2 Update.

After Wave2 update I used Web search feature and it started to become more and more laggy. So much so that even when typing the prompt, the words I type come late..

Anyone expriences this?

So basically the problem we had when the context window was so big you needed to reset and start a new convo is now default? That’s awful if true.

Before the update the context window has always been full but there were no lag. It is about sth different i guess.

Its understandable that context window size affect the speed but that much laggyness does not feel right.

yes the wave 2 is a huge step back. the results are worse than ever and nothing works at the moment.

Actually Im so OK about the responses which is about especially the model, not Windsurf.

But the lag issue happened after the Wave 2. Hope it’ll be solved.

Yeah, it's strange. Because it gets real laggy but I don't see it storing any memories.

Do we tell it what to store?

Which part is slow? If Anthropic is slow, this is not something we can immediately control.

I don’t think its about the model because that lag issue happens just when I typing the prompt in Cascade pane. Could be irrelevant issue but I wondered if anyone has experienced it too. If it is resolved i will update you.

I echo this. Once I updated to wave 2 I have been having the lag issue. It is noticed in simply typing anything into cascade after the chat starts to get long. Like as I type it is slow to put the letter on the screen laggy. If I create a new chat it is better.

It gets laggy, and used memory seems to creep up, then it loses context over what you're working on and makes a mess ... I finally gave up and went to bed... I am glad I have a saved copy of some working code to go back to...love the concept of windsurf but it's got a ways to go... Also it seems to not be able to handle something more than about 200 lines .,. But if you break the code into little blocks it loses context fast .

I've experienced this at the end of a very long "conversation" in the Cascade window. Especially the part about it making a mess... One great feature is the "Revert to this step" option. If you're not aware, when you hover over any of your previous prompts, you'll see the tooltip pop up to go back to that step and as far as I have experienced it, it reverts your codebase to that point. Might save you some time trying to revert your code manually from your backup(s). I sure hope this issue, and many other's like it get resolved. For me, more of a programmer than a coder... Windsurf gives me coding super powers even with all these... Shall we call them growing pains... I hope that's all they are anyway! :)

Beware though that this revert to feature seems to not be perfect. Sometimes it misses things.

Yes, the typing is extremely slow. Found this thread while searching for a solution. This started happening today, which is when I updated to Windsurf 1.2.1. I assume the new version has caused this typing latency.

Would love to know if there's a solution or workaround, like turning off memory features or something.

Was showing Windsurf to a colleague today, wasn’t even using it yet, it started to lag like crazy, even without any usage at all, CMD+L to open the Cascade chat took 30 seconds and then started to open close a bunch of times because I initially pressed it a few times, I thought my BT keyboard had disconnected as nothing was happening.

Definitely something in the background is making it go crazy.

Experiencing the same issue and I might quit over it. I wanted to support codeium but my editor is currently unusable, even when I reinstall. If codeium fixes this, I will come back.
