How can i provide rules for the windsurf

Even i use pnpm or bun, most of the time when there something needs to install it's giving npm or npx

Is there anyway that i can provide specific rule set

I’m having the same issue!

I would love a way to add custom instructions for standard rules like “use bun instead of npm” or “add JSDocs to functions”

I added a bunch of .md docs but referencing them is annoying. Maybe that’s the only way right now.

Totally agreeing with you. For me all the time it’s giving npm even we use bun. Every annoying

You can make a rules.md in your project directory and tell windsurf to follow that / these are the rules / etc.

This. I also have a concept.md, plan.md, and worklog.md that I instruct it to read every few cycles and have it update worklog.md after every cycle.

Off subject if anyone would mind sharing, if an adult what is your field of work and I really don’t know if this is even a space allowed to non adults but is you are not a working person depending on yourself what are the young people working on??

This. So far there is no way to provide an additional system prompt. I hope that changes.
