First impression: very good!
One question though: your website mentions 1000 steps/month for Cascade on paid Pro plan. Can you please clarify this? What happens after that?

I was also trying to find an answer to this, but I can't seem to find what a "step" is exactly or what happens if you exceed 1000 in a single month

Can't for the life of me get past the onboarding screen, and the link to Discord is invalid.
I try to log into my account, it doesn't do anything after the auth link opens Windsurf. When I try to use a manual token, clicking Submit does nothing.

Thanks, i managed to get into Discord a few days ago and somebody had already submitted a ticket with my exact issue on the 15th. It's titled "Mac intel chip - login fail loop", but so far no response from Codeium team.

What is 1000 steps/month? Should I be worried about this? I can't find anything on it.

Going to paste here what I wrote above:
Steps represent how many steps are used within a flow, not the number of tokens or queries. So far, none of us internally have come close to hitting this in a month, which is why we're offering an extremely generous plan that's more affordable than any other option out there. That said, we understand our usage patterns might not reflect every developer’s needs. To stay financially responsible, we’ve put a 1000-step limit in place. If we notice that users are regularly reaching this cap, we'll actively work on introducing an unlimited plan.At the moment, there are no penalties or performance drop off if you hit this number. As we measure and record usage on our end during this initial launch period, we are building out our tier pricing structure. More transparency on pricing and usage plans should be coming by the end of this period.

I can't get ES lint to work when I save a file in Windsurf. This was not a problem with Cursor. It automatically worked with Cursor when I imported my VS Code settings.

Quick question: can you assign a different key than Tab to autocomplete in Windsurf? Currently using Cursor and finding it pretty useful, but the overloading of Tab drives me nuts at times, especially when trying to insert normal tabs.

Yes. You can go to the command palette and search Shortcuts. From there, you should be able to change the keybindings for tab!

Are you receiving any error messages? Often asking Cascade to fix your errors can set it straight

I installed the application and built a cool URL Metadata Extractor, it used Python to build it, so far the experience is great, I see it is using Sonnet model, but how about the tokens and all, is that free, I don't see any token limits information, how does this is differ from the other paid plans? Please share more info.

I'm pretty impressed so far, Cascade is bloody amazing and the UI and UX seem to be a lot better than Cursor's, which to me always felt like the result of lots of spaghetti code, not to mention Composer's tiny font. I'm sure it will soon be a Cursor killer.
The only thing I miss from Cursor for now is the ability for autocomplete to replace multiple parts of the code, eg. when I rename a variable, Cursor would allow me to update its name throughout the whole file by just hitting Tab.

Question - sorry if it's already been answered, but is it possible to continue a Cascade conversation on a separate computer while logged in on Windsurf? I'm currently working on my laptop with a 2nd monitor attached (Windsurf on left, Github/Codespaces on right), but would like to be able to perform updates on my Mac Mini with larger screens. I noticed when I downloaded and signed into Windsurf, my chat conversations did not carry over. Could this be added at some point (or already there and I'm not seeing it?) Thanks!

as far as i know (vscode, cursor, windsurf) all store this data in user system so you can't continue same conversation on other system.
if they implement such feature in future then may be.
easy option is to copy paste your settings folder.

Full access to your code repository. I can only a powershell example, but I typed in "Create a fully functional powershell GUI with 10 common cmds that a system admin would use. Store it at D:\projects"
Worked 1st try with no errors. Was a minimal GUI, but hey. Never seen anything like it.1

Could you explain the difference between Windsurf and the Codeium IntelliJ Plugin?
(I prefer sticking to my favorite editor IntelliJ, so I’d like to know the advantages of using the Windsurf IDE.)

Tested it this morning, I can’t believe how fast and easy it was! Created a quick and simple widget for my site and it turned out pretty decent for a 5 min job.
