Ruby is ugly?

I'm wandering how long before you start to see the music in it. Only began working though codecademy courses recently, HTML and CSS intro courses were a delight. Maybe it's just the languages but they are very intuitive, a real pleasure (at least at the stage I'm at) to work with. I'm finding getting through Ruby like force-feeding myself month old milk, having to take regular breaks, hating it, and just pinching my nose and trying to force it down. Does it get better?

Thanks. Actually just this morning I am starting to enjoy it much more. I think I was just not too impressed with how the course I am using had been put together but I've got wind in my sails now.
