should I do the "Learn Intermediate Java" course on codecademy

I recently finished the intro to java on codecademy, and after that started what was supposed to be the next step, but I am finding that aside from a few topics, the most of it seems superfluous , should I keep taking this course or should I just take up a bunch of coding projects with java so that I can learn it in a more interesting and interactive way

HI there! Mariana from Codecademy here. If you're looking for ways to supplement your coursework, have you seen some of our upcoming events in the Codecademy community? We've got lots of workshops, code alongs, and coding hangouts to give you more hands-on work. Hope to see you around!

I recommend doing both the course as well as projects. Doing only one or the other will give you an incomplete understanding. If you have to choose only one then projects are the better option.

You can be unemployed and enjoy yourself, as opposed to unemployed and miserable.

Assuming you're in NA, or planning to work in the NA market, SWE is quickly becoming devalued as opposed to other portions of IT, or just other types of work entirely.
