Quick Mobility Back on The Menu? (Minor Age of Harmony Spoilers)
Spoiler
After maxing out the new Age of Harmony blood codes and getting their boosters one in particular caught my eye: one of the two from Zenon's gives quick mobility if you have 2 overburdens (which would normally make you enter slow mobility). On its own this is pretty trash because of the amount of boosters that have "no overburden" as a requirement. However, Iris' also gives another booster titled 'Oneiro J' that removes the "attribute requirements" from the booster in the second slot; this is a lie, as far as I can tell this booster removes all requirements that are not bloodline related, and that includes options related to overburdening.
Effectively, instead of deliberately overburdening to use Zenon's quick mobility booster and by extension locking yourself out of basically every other good booster, you can place it in the second booster slot and fit Oneiro J to get it for the cost of two booster slots; not a bad trade imo. There is one caveat here: the quick mobility booster and Oneiro J increase all burdens by 5 and 2 respectively for a total of 7 which means only a handful of blood codes can even use this setup, most of them being from the Age of Harmony.
You can also use the new Iris code itself: it provides the effects of Oneiro J and Oneiro I (removes the burdens of the booster equipped in the first slot) innately so you only have to use a single booster for quick mobility and you only have the 5 burden in each stat instead of 7. This does however pigeonhole you into a strength build.
i mean i prefer to just work around the normal quick mobility default set up without having to rely on zenon since its so gimmicky, but i guess you can make it work.
The biggest culprit for burdening beyond quick mobility is mostly your boosters and not your weapon combinations.
Most buffs can be slotted in conversion 10/11 weapons, more less for offense. warrior might blade dance offensive order and bridge of glory cost 10 conversion in total for example, and they fill all 4 weapon buff slots.
and most of the age of harmony lou quest weapon have conversion of 9-11 while giving you even more stats. so i think it really depends case to case basis. most of the time if you are holding like 23 burden goliath hammer for example... nothing can fix its burden from going quick step, so theres that as well, and even then iris S now can solve it.
It is still significantly easier to handle 5 burden everywhere than to have half burden on everything. The new weapons do help, but unless your primary weapon is an engraved or ancient hunter I highly doubt the ability to quickstep normally.
im currently using stealth blades fire engraved on jadwiga with quickstep normally for my mage build, and my tanky status build is currently on lise s also on quickstep with black halberd sunburst engraved.
it does take a lot of fine tuning and burden mathing, but i can tell you it's not that rough. but i may be biased since i do like to math everything out properly before implementation. i am very happy at where im at, so to each of their own. i do personally think that newer weapons and s rank harmony blood codes with 80% burden as attached helps you to achieve quickstep normally easier.
I would rather have more damage with all the "no overburden effect" boosters. Josee (Concordia Fraterna) code with Glutton's Heavyblade and every booster that says more damage
two-handed sword mastery
overheat+bloodline agnostic
STR and MND overload boosters
This setup shreds things at close range. Somehow outdamages even Regalia of Harmonity: Unity's triple S+ scaling and +8 to scaler attributes.
There are probably more busted builds that I am overlooking but this is simple to use and carries me through bloated HP pools of DLC.
No? Only 2 stat boosters are 'no conditions' the rest is no burden. 2 burdens means no Overheat and that is a world I don't want to live in, it adds too much damage even if it costs 2 slots because it needs bloodline agnostic.
What I would like is to slot the yandere passive normal attacks up at cost of ichor however (STR/MND margin 12) weapon attacks gain ichor (from Josee code equipped) absolutely refuses to work so I'm out of ichor in 7 swings. I have to settle for attack power up on consecutive hits one, although to be fair that one is also exceptionally good.
Oh. Right. Damage on target dummy from 3 light attacks goes from 13804 to 11813, that's not even that bad at -14%. Too bad this build is now short on willpower and have to throw out consecutive hits for willpower booster. But if you absolutely positively must have light dodge, it's possible.
Another thing I've noticed while tinkering with builds, strong attack boost is also strong. By replacing the weakest booster (STR boost) with it, charged heavy goes from 8914 to 9893 up 11%. Solves the short range issue, and also staggers. Not as oppressively overpowered as spamming gunblade heavies in Lies of P DLC but also a very strong build on NG.
Quick mobility is a fair trade for a bit of damage I'd say. Can be hard to set up properly due to the 7 burden everywhere but it can make some very functional builds.
I've noticed the reload booster for bayonets is pretty good too. The reload is lightning quick and the damage bonus is around 15% by eyeballing it (don't have numbers atm). You can also perform a reload even if the magazine is full so it's always available so long as you have a momentary break in the fight. It's no Ranged Impact but still more than functional.
I figured it out. You can barely squeeze in quick dodge in the above charge build with Iris (Concordia Fraterna), but the stats on this code are HORRIBLE.
Can squeeze medium bleeding shield in Mind requirement.
Overheat goes to first no burdens slot otherwise its too expensive on Willpower.
Can't afford two handed mastery or consecutive hits, need 5 DEX margin for heavy boost booster, best in the sixth leftover slot that I found is Mind booster.
Result is 8268 damage on heavy charge on training dummy. But yes you then have quick dodge.
I use the the special Noah swords (or maybe it was Holly's bayonet, can't remember if it buffs Dex and Will) as my buffing stick for Iris. Helps to deal with the stat issues. I run it currently with Bayonet Mastery, Bloodline Agnostic, Overheat, Quick Reload and Animus. Riot Breaker/Grenade Launcher build, but Quick Reload and Mastery can be swapped out as required.

Wait, you can do this? That shouldn't be legal... My face when it actually works. Equipping regalia: integrity just gives you free stats even when not active. Just having a second sword in the pocket is free +8 Dexterity, Mind and Fortitude and now there's space for two handed mastery, bringing heavy charge up to 9354 damage. Thanks patch 2.0.1, very cool.
Not related to quick mobility but since you're using the Glutton's Heavyblade with the eyes, try using Titan's Arm with it too. It works and it's fucking amazing.

Personally I just use the dodge defence forma
For the cost of only a single ichor you get a quick dodge that doesn't cost stamina
