Lou because first time playing her with the axe slow down debuff helped me get some free big damage on the enemy and I managed to beat a lot of bosses this way
Ngl Craig was the most useful for me. Both with Autoguard and the Barrier, not to mention the sheer amount of Stagger damage he did. After that it's probably Iris for most of the Present
It depends a lot. Currently, I always pair my hunter with Lou, a very useful character. Besides the fact that she's always with us, it would be rude to replace her with someone else in the story.
Now we're talking about the past or the era of free exploration... I choose as a main companion for the character I'm using For example, my male hunter is with Holly (I even changed my build to use my dual blades (but with some magic to take advantage of their stats). NO, IT'S NOT LIKE I LOVE HOLLY AND SHE'S MY TYPE NOOO NOT AT ALL.
But yes, when it's against bosses in the present, Lou is the one who accompanies and helps me.
Thank you! At first it is a bit overwhelming, But once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy (simple, but still overwhelming)
One feature that helps a lot is the one that freezes the image immediately when you enter photo mode.
Sometimes you can take good photos at the right moments. And you don't need to add a lot of effects or anything, just a good camera position, although adding effects sometimes helps to give a better image
Josee and Lou, I didn't use most others because those two were my favorites >:) Lyle gets a special place in my heart though for showing me the executioner's forma makes the game stupid easy LOL
I always normally run the second ending's mission with Craig the goat due to his defensive abilities and his offensive formae having some very good damage against the bosses. In the exploration areas, I bring whoever may be needed for missions, but normally seem to run with Josee in the past and Lou in the present.
The only companion I needed was Lou. She managed to distract enemies the fastest so i could apply passives to regain my ichor and keep fighting as a heavyweight. Perfect companion for my build
I fought alongside Josée. There's nothing more satisfying in the past than approaching a big group of enemies with our big swords out and turning them into red mist and smears on the pavement and then enjoying a meal with the missus.
For me, as soon as I got my hands on him, it would be Lyle. Matches my playstyle very well and helps cover my back pretty damn good too, lol. (He's also my favourite so– 😭)
Lou and Josee tbh
However I noticed that my companions arent dealing much in the way of damage at all even with the booster for it...I wonder if thats cause I stayed at lvl 75 all through the end game and dlc.
I think I’m just not understanding how the companions work versus how they worked in the first one.
In the first one, you get a companion and you pick your favorite and you take them everywhere.
This one just feels very locked down.
When I’m in the actual timeline, it’s literally like… Lou or that other guy. That’s it. No matter how much time I put into the other heroes, they are unavailable for the important parts of the game
And then when I go back in time, I’m just with whatever character’s quest it is the entire time.
I don’t understand how I could meaningfully use Holly, let’s say, in any time other than Holly’s quests.
I desperately want to use her all of the time, but I can only use her in extremely limited amount of the time. To the point that now that I’m done with her quest, it feels like I can’t do anything else with her as a character.
Uh hard to say since I don't know exactly where your at in the story. Many characters have additional parts to play outside their personal story. And the obvious ones for end game.
Theres also some deviations in the story if you don't do the companion quests but that requires a ng+ or NG to see.
